Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que — Restaurant in Addison Township

Horrible, horrible service. Walk in on a Saturday night told it’s a 45 minute wait. MULTIPLE tables open. I’m told there’s people in front of me, who yes, would fit at 2 of the 3 tables open. When I pushed back on why we were being told 45 minutes when there’s open tables there’s still no clear answer. Finally get seated, I assume because I started to say “WHY are they not seating anyone?” As my toddler is screaming. When I ask for a manager, your typical millennial/Gen Z comes over, refuses to apologize for her staff and is cracking her neck and pointing her fingers like she’s on an episode of Love and Hip Hop. It’s sickening that this restaurant is managed and run by children, clearly there needs to be some adult supervision here. Also, who doesn’t bring a children’s menu to a table when seating a child? I’m sure this place will be the next to close and unfortunately the employees have no one to blame but themselves.

**Update, see the response. A complete and utter lie. There were 0 patrons waiting in their vehicle. And yes, as I stated multiple patrons waiting with MULTIPLE tables. See how the managers behavior was brushed off? When a restaurant is managed by children this is the type of response you get. Don’t patronize this place, the food is disgusting as well as...

We drive out to this location even though we have the North Riverside location close to us. The food is hit or miss, we went a few weeks ago for lunch and it was really good, I had the ultimate burger which was juicy and delicious, my family got two meat combos of ribs and hot sausages which was also very good. Food came out quick and hot, our server was also on top of everything. We went again last night hoping to get the same hot and delicious food but we were disappointed, I got the same burger and it wasn't the same, very dry and tasted as it sat for a while because it wasn't as hot as I remembered. My family got the family feast and that was also disappointing, the sausage didn't taste the same, the roasted chicken was different too, I don't know if it sat there too long and by the time we got it , it had cooled down. We did wait a longer than last time and I think that had something to do with it. Our waitress was alright got sat down and ordered our drinks, we needed a few minutes and we waited and waited until she finally came almost 15 minutes later, it wasn't that busy at the time. I'm guessing it depends on the cooks or time of day you decide to go. I will go again because we prefer this location, but if the food doesn't improve will have to go elsewhere...

This past Saturday my buddy and I had just finished an amazing 10 hour fishing trip making our next destination a tall ice cold beer and some amazing BBQ.....Decided to return back to Famous Dave's in Addison which was even better than the 20 or so largemouth bass, perch, and walleye that started this day. We could not wait for a table due to childcare and senior care issues which was noted when we called after docking our boat. The hostess made arrangements for us at the bar as we had requested and then went and found us a server, (Kayla) that was absolutely fantastic. Our food was absolutely amazing....SIMPLY OUTSTANDING! But more importantly to notice in this uptight, device ridden, pandemic era of crazy sauce in society was the unbelievable above & beyond efforts of our server, the other wait staff and even their manager. He was working along side his crew and helped keep everything moving. We always have heard that the server can make or break one's meal.....Well, this team at Dave's truly deserves the 5 stars plus....Saturday's experience was beyond perfect....outstanding service and just awesome sauce for attitudes and team work. Well done famous Dave's...WELL DONE! and THANK YOU! There is no going anywhere...
