About 15 years ago, I visited Chuy’s In Plano and tried a CoronaRita. It was love at first sip. The salty sour amazingness of corona with sweet, frozen margarita? Perfect. But I didn’t realize when I moved to Addison Circle two years ago, that I would be five minutes away from not only that delicious beverage, but an amazing group of servers and bartenders and managers who would draw me into their establishment with their friendliness and fun atmosphere. The food is good, especially weird dishes like the green chile fried chicken and chick-a chick-a boom boom enchiladas. The reason I keep going back is the friendly service and camaraderie. Because I normally dine alone, I normally sit at the bar or in the bar area, and Emily is a rock star! So fun and friendly and makes a great drink. Also on hand are Kiera and Ray, always good for conversation, and the manager, Amber, has a great laugh.
Before Covid, most of the locations had a nacho car. No, that was not a misspelling. They actually had nacho fixings in the cut-off trunk of a car, lol. Well, that’s not quite back, but during happy hour at the Addison location, you can make yourself free nachos. They also have great happy hour prices on margaritas and what not. It is an inexpensive way to decompress after a crazy day at work.
If it sounds like I am fanboying a little bit, I am. In an old black-and-white movie, Jimmy Stewart said the line, “No one brings anything small to a bar.” A bar, a restaurant, any excuse to get out is time to get away from yourself and a laugh with others. That’s what I found at Chuy’s. Check them out in Addison! Especially Saturday through Tuesday in the evenings. Emily’s shift. Enjoy all of the chips and ranch salsa you can eat. And ask for a margarita with a Corona. You...
Read moreThis place has good food. The waiting staff here are the real problem. You may get 2-3 people coming to your table. None of them are in sync at all. You likely will get a table that's not fully prepared (no napkins / salt / pepper). You're better off taking your cup to the bar and getting a refill to be honest. I would also keep your receipts from this place. One of the Waiters there changed my tip and added a 0 to make himself a bit more money. I did dispute this with the management staff and because I keep everything I was clearly right. They indicated the employee was wrong and how my tip CLEARLY labeled the tip amount. The employee added an extra 0 to make himself more money. They said they were going to refund me this. After a week goes by they never sent the refund. I called them back and they said they needed some credit card information to process the refund. He said they had no phone number to call me back. I did leave him my phone number at the beginning when he first was going to investigate this issue to which he did call me back on. So after calling back a second time they issued a refund for the stolen amount for the tip. They did also send me a free dinner pass to eat here again. I wouldn't recommend this place. Any place you go to where you have to watch your bank in case they steal from you shouldn't be in business. I did ask the staff if the employee in question was still there. They did indicate he does still work there. The waiter I had that caused this whole headache was Zach B. If you get this waiter I would recommend asking for a manager and requesting...
Read moreWe heard of greatness of Chuy's and our first trip didn't disappoint! We probably should have made trip #1 focused on apps because their queso with add-ins (their own take on a Bob Armstrong dip) was fantastic and our truly awesome server Jesse kept us filled with chips and salsa. Then Jesse came back and upped the game with this jalapeño ranch sauce for us to try. Like I said, we could have just stayed in the category of apps (and there were more apps we wanted) and as this all was knocking it out of the park. Add on top of this that Jesse's service and menu advice throughout the whole thing and we were just loving it.
We did end up going for lunch menu items because they were too good to pass up. We went with a steak burrito and Boom Boom enchiladas. Jesse gave me great advice that the hatch chili sauce on top brings some heat so we agreed for him to have him bring out on the side as my stomach has been a bit temperamental with spice lately. The sauce was not too spicy but did have a nice kick at the end. Thanks to Jesse though we still had some of the delicious jalapeño ranch sauce at the table so we used a quick spoon of that in with the hatch mix and created an out of this world mix on top of the burrito! I would like to comment on the Boom Boom enchillada, but my wife seemed to growl at me every time I tried to sample (just kidding - she finally obliged to share the tiniest of bites and it was fantastic)!
Huge recommend! Loved the food, loved the flavors and cleanliness. Saw good sanitation, good mask wearing by staff, and seemingly great...
