I have never in my 8 years of being in the service industry had such a bad experience as I did at Rio.

I ordered a Marg and a burrito- my total came out to be 46 dollars! WHAT?! My jaw hit the floor!!!! The marg was priced at 16 and the burrito was 14. This just doesn’t add up.

My burrito came out cold- but I was so hungry I ate it anyways. It also had NO potatoes on it but I didn’t make a fuss.

I originally had ordered guacamole too, but it came out AFTER my cold burrito did. It was watery and had NO flavor. Our server ultimately comped it. They were very kind about it also. This was the only saving grace of this experience for me.

Our server was mostly patient and nice, but the other waitstaff assisting us had attitudes out the wazoo, and it made some of the people in our party very uncomfortable and unhappy.

It felt as though we were being rushed out of the restaurant. They were ready for us to go. We arrived around 6:50 and our party was out of there and on the way to cars by 8… the restaurant closes at 10:30.

It was a friends birthday, they gave her a shot she didn’t ask for, and charged her for it on her ticket. How can you charge someone for something they didn’t ask for?!

It’s sad because it’s a wonderful location, and a cute place. But the food nor the service some of the servers there give just isn’t worth the money or time. I never leave bad reviews, but this needs to be FIXED. asap. 46 dollars for a marg and a burrito is unacceptable for the quality that the food was, and the attitude that we got from some of the servers while our food was...

To the owner, This place has went to a downhill Mexican restaurant for me and my family. We loved coming here about 3 times a week. I truly have lost my business coming here. I have multiple concerns and complaints. The manager “Daniel” doesn’t care about his customers. He stands there and looks at everyone eat. Doesn’t greet ANYONE. He gives people mean looks. We even called him over to ask him for something and just kept walking. He just smacks his gum and doesn’t do anything.

They forgot half our order. We needed limes and salsa verde, the salsa bar didn’t have anything. We waited 10 minutes for that, and yes our food got cold. The salsa bar is a terrible idea. To be ignored by someone who is in charge, is disrespectful. Who wants to touch all of the other handles of the salsas that everyone has touched?? And then sit down and eat chips with our hands. It’s just unsanitary. Everything was terrible but we did have the sweetest server. That was...

Right when we got there, the server kept asking us if we wanted drinks, shots, etc. We said no and wanted some time to look at the cocktail menu before deciding, but he kept coming back every 2 minutes or so asking if we decided on drinks or if we wanted shots. So we said no to shots again (wondering if he keeps asking us if we want shots just because we're 4 college aged people...). We felt rushed and got a drink which tasted fine. I got 2 tacos (steak and beef tongue) and my friends also got different tacos. The meat was so dry and flavorless, I had to drink a lot of water with my meal. I can't speak for the other foods at the restaurant, but the tacos are 100% a no go for me. The check came, and the waiter accidentally doubled the price for the drink and had to ask for that to get fixed. Overall, just awkward service that just happened to end up as a perfect storm. Great location and restaurant feel, but definitely have no intentions of...

Went there for lunch and ordered bowl salad with chicken that came with a side of soup. The menu wasn't as descriptive, so I wasn't sure I was going to get. The Salad was ok; it was lettuce, tomatoes, and the seasoned chicken. For some reason I expected more, maybe some beans or avocado on it. The soup was traditional, and I quite enjoyed it! I last ordered the flan, and that was ok. It wasn't as smooth as flan is meant to be and it lacked tinge more sweetness but that's due to the texture. It was served with whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle. The flavor profile was all over the place here. This dish could be improved with a fresh caramel sauce, and some fresh fruit to stay cost effective. Given the location and the price of $15, I was satisfied with the food and experience. I will be coming back again to try other items on the menu.

This was my first experience at Rio Cantina. 7/12/19. I join my best friend and his wife for a birthday dinner. We orginally had a large party of 6 but ended up with only four. They had no problem moving us to a smaller both. Salsa was very good, the salsa verde was delicious and tasted fresh. Beer was cold and served quickly. The issue we had was once we moved our waiter disappeared for about 45minutes. We eventually got another waitress. We got our food hot and fresh. Our second issue was upon trying to get our check it took about 30 minutes before we got our checks and the waitress that took our order didnt let our waiter know the order so we had to tell him what we had. The food is a bit prices for the portions but I was delicious. I will try them again.

Took my family here for lunch today. Ordered Queso, and the cheese was off, taste wise. I got the taco salad with ground beef, and my son got the Burrito with chicken cantina style. My mom got the beef taco salad, too. The meat appeared to be boiled in water, zero flavor. The chicken also boiled in water with zero flavor. The taco shells smelled of rancid oil. The water tastes of mold. It's not a good start... Wait, staff needs help in hospitality.
