My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary upstairs along with wine cheese and cake and other light refreshments our anniversary was September 26,2018 however we invite a couple of friends his parents my parents my grandparents ,and some out of towners from the time my sister and I walked in to decorate until the time our guests arrived we were rushed why? Because their staff over book the top venue.so therfor my party was there eating and making a toast when the owner/ manager and walks up to me and says our other party is here in which that wasnt my problem!!! my guests had to stop eating and help me to clean up it was embarrassing and terrible terrible service .Never in a million years had ive been treated that way we spent money we purchased candles but to be rushed out of there no accommodation for the time we lost or anything no call to apologize and this was a place that I loved I brought several of my friends in my aunt from California I had recommended this venue to alot of people but ive lost all interest due to the way my party and I were treated ,I was punished for something that was their mistake of over booking and this is why !!! we as black people feel that were treated differently, Because of race here I am a black woman with a party of 20 being rushed away and standing downstairs is a party of white woman possibly a party of 15-20 that is being accommodated at there pleasure while were being pushed out the door :( I loved this facility once upon of time but if u have a gathering make sure that they book you correct and not overbook you and treat u as tho its your fault why now? Why did I wait 3 months later because I wanted them to feel as tho I forgot I didnt !!! My feelings were hurt and my anniversary was ruined and most of all I wont spend another dime at a venue that I really enjoyed due to bad customer service :( please excuse any mistakes ive made explaining my complaint! I hope that the next couple has a better...
Read moreWent for a date night, which is rare for us with a 10-month-old. Anyway, a pretty decent sized work party was there when we got there, but we didn’t mind at all smelling all of the scents since we were first time customers! While the party was checking out, one person was tending to 2 people next to us but didn’t tell us how to get started. I guess it’s just one attendant to 2 people ratio? Anyway, hopefully you’re reading this review (or the website) before going because we had no idea of these pretty interesting facts: Even though the directions say write down any scent that interests you on 15 lines, make sure to star your top 2, because they will ask you to pick (after you go through all that trouble sniffing)! You can apparently have more than a 2 scent combo, but our attendant seemed reluctant to let us try 3 at a time. (And the first 3 I tried was the combo I picked... I’m not just sitting in there forever taking my sweet time) There are bath products too! Soap, lotion, shower gel, scrub, etc. Overall, I loved the scents I picked! But definitely felt it was self-guided, and now we know what to do if we go back. (And if on a date night, I’d recommend walking down to the Hyatt House rooftop for an amazing experience- ask for Tito...
Read moreI have to brag on a local business real quick, y’all! If you’ve never been to Augusta Candle Co., you’re seriously missing out on such a fun activity ran by super polite staff and an amazing owner! My girlfriend and I went last night for the first time and the employee was so nice and helped us through making our candles while keeping conversation with us both, and as did the owner of the business. My girlfriend and I were going to eat dinner in hopes of coming back to pick our candles up after but they closed before we would’ve been able to get back in time to get them. The owner of the business went out of her way to bring them all the way to us at Edgar’s Grille after our dinner! She was so nice and you could tell she cared about what she did and her customers. Not to mention the candles smell so wonderful and after you run out of your candle, you can take it back to the store and refill it! So, if you haven’t been, you need to make it a point to go make a candle at Augusta Candle Co.! It was an amazing experience and I’ll definitely be going...
