I guess Sunrise Grill is not what it used to be. My wife was on her way to an appointment and stopped in to get an egg and raisin toast to go at 11am Friday, January 29th. There’s no instructions as to where to place a to go order. So, she went to the eating counter and sat there for nearly 10 minutes before anyone waited on her. Then, a rude waitress sipping on a drink asked her what she wanted and my wife responded she wanted an egg and raisin toast to go. This waitress who was doing nothing during a lull in customers sarcastically pointed to the cash register and told my wife to go order over there and then went back to leaning on the counter while sipping her drink. My wife waited in line at the cash register and when it was her turn asked the cashier for a to go order of an egg and raisin toast. The cashier acted like she didn’t know what my wife was talking about and was put out by the request. The cashier reluctantly agreed to fill the to go order and rudely turned away. 15 minutes later the cashier came up to my wife made no eye contact and handed her the box of food. My wife went to pay using a gift card and the cashier gave her continued hassle about the gift card. In the end, my wife’s food was cold and she was late for her appointment. Evidently the nice ladies who used to work at the Sunrise Grill are gone or were off and they replaced them with lazy, inconsiderate and rude people. Good to know. We will take our business elsewhere and encourage our friends and family to...

The menu is very hit and miss. Gave them two tries and was not overall impressed. Waffles were good, but blueberries on top were rancid. Breakfast sandwich and corned beef hash also good. Country fried steak was ok, but was a little thin and lacked seasoning and was overbreaded. Went the other day and tried the "chicken salad" sandwich, but that couldn't have been further from what it was. It was HUGE pieces of dry chicken smothered in watery mayo with no flavor. It was terrible. The only redeeming factor was the potato salad, which I suspect may have also gone a bit sour. Some things are ok, but with it being so varied, I won't be going again. The service is good, but I always hear lots of apologies from the waitresses visiting tables around me. I'm guessing the kitchen staff is a big problem. Also, their music in the back is loud and just terrible music. I would rather go to a chain like waffle house because at least the quality and consistency are almost always spot on and I have been going my entire life. My advice: avoid this place or get the most basic things on the menu, skip the lunch items, and avoid the fresher items like fruit. I'm guessing this place either has fake good reviews or the folks of this area really don't know what...

Don't order the eggs benedict, they make hollandaise's thiccc brother known as bechamel and added some egg yolk to it.

Which is fine but it isn't light lemony hollandaise. It was essentially egg yolk gravy and disappointment.

The eggs were perfectly poached and their tea is good. Grits were a good consistency and just right for adding your own butter and salt.

It was clean and the hostess/cashier was great but juggling the whole show. It did not feel welcoming, clearly the regulars were comfortable but our waitress was inattentive, got our orders and delivered. Got refills at delivery and nothing else. Didn't check on us again. I had to walk up to her to get our ticket to pay at the cashier to leave.

It's also Monday morning and very cold after a warm week.

If you're a local and want a new go to diner for one of your meals everyday, this is it. Good price, ppl who want to know you by name.

If you're just passing through, skip and go elsewhere.

Also the sidewalk to the entrance is not wheelchair accessible, you have to go to the storefront next door to get up on the sidewalk but once inside; the restaurant layout is very...

I was passing through Augusta.. came across this place. I wanted some breakfast so I decided to go in. There was a decent amount of seating. For tables. And they had like a bar area for like singles to sit and it. The lady at the front was nice she assisted me with my order.. didnt really know wht to get. Since this was my first time. But its breKfast.. kind of hard to mess it up. I made. Y order Nd it came back in a decent amount of time..my order was to go. So when I fi ally ate it it was decent. The price wasnt bad either. But nothing was awesome or horrible. I would have to go again to get a better idea..

I came in right at opening for a quiet Sunday breakfast. That is not what I got. The only customers were myself and an older couple. The server was nice. The cooks were excessively loud. I could hear every work of their conversation, which was about one cook smoking weed worth his 12 year old son for 4/20 (because it was his birthday). I don’t typically mind cussing, but it seems like every other word this guy used was the F bomb. It seemed really unprofessional and disrespectful. The food was decent, nothing special. The waitress was attentive.

Only giving a two because the service was great. The food is nothing like the one in Georgia though. His hash and potatoes were so overcooked and a pasty mush he couldn’t even eat them. My BLT w dbl bacon was okay but very dry. The poached egg perfectly cooked but all the white cut away leaving two tiny bites. Grits w cheese were okay and the scrambled egg w onions decent. We will definitely visit the Augusta Sunrise instead.
