Waffle House — Restaurant in Aiken County

Upon arrival, the restaurant wasn't busy. We were able to come in and sit right away. We were the only customers our waiter had. She took our order and brought our drinks right away. As the food came to the table, our seven-year-old ordered bacon and a waffle. The bacon arrived after our meal, and her waffle arrived 15 minutes after everyone else's food. The cook made himself a sandwich and went to the back to eat while our waiter ran around, filling condiment containers instead of getting our daughter's waffle to the table. Upon arrival, both orders of bacon were poorly cooked. Once the waffle finally arrived, it was overcooked and dry. I was upset about my daughter's simple order arriving so late and being poorly cooked. The waiter only offered to refill my tea while my son sat for half of our meal needing a refill. My daughter and I came in around 9-9:10 p.m. after a volleyball game and they were noticeably busy. So we took a seat and waited to be greeted. A minimum of 7 minutes being there, a young blonde told us that someone would be with us shortly. Another 5+ minutes passed, and no one greated us, but 2 different servers checked on the table in front of us, not 2 min apart, to make sure their coffee was full.

My daughter and I left and as I was walking out of the door, I said y'all have a great night and a female yelled back you do too! Not a care in the world that they treated us so poorly.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. It is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional to let someone sit for over 10 minutes and still not even greet them. And its even more ridiculous to have 8 staff members in that tiny of a place and only one acknowledge even your existence.

This location is most definitely my husband's and my favorite. They definitely have the other 2 in North Augusta and the one in Clearwater beat! We frequently come in during the late night shift on our way home. About 4 or 5 months ago we almost stopped coming because the cook was not good and some of the wait staff gave poor and rude service. We've seen the change in staff and now enjoy the food and service more. The really TALL lady (can't remember her name) that cooks on Friday nights really knows her stuff! Her and Leo really work well together and put out some fantastic food. Our favorite waiter/waitress is Colt and Smiley. They both are great and make sure we have everything we need as fast as possible and that it is all just the way we like it.
