Update: I just visited on Dec. 6, 2023, with a couple of friends. The burgers were awesome, the fried green tomatoes were delicious, and the drinks were great! It was not very busy, and there was an open table next to us and additional seats at the bar.
The service was good. Typically, my friends and I over tip when we go out because we tend to spend a little bit of extra time at the table. I was very surprised to see that an 18% gratuity had already been added to my bill. The note on the receipt read 18% gratuity added to all bills for parties of more than 1. Yes, I said 1! My friends and I thought this was strange. We typically would have tipped 20% or maybe even more if the service was exceptional. The service was not exceptional, and we all decided to keep our tips at the 18% that was already listed on the bill as it had already been added for us.
When the server returned with our copies to sign for our credit card, the server did not include the original receipt with the breakdown of food tax and tip. Now the tip was listed as a service fee (an 18% service fee?) We did not tip any additional even though it was asked of us at the bottom of the receipt with a breakdown of what we could tip. The tip amounts listed were based on the total amount plus the 18% that was already added to the bill.
The 3 of us felt this was really shady on the part of the establishment. We are unsure why it was indicated as a tip on the first copy and then as a service fee on the second signed copy.
Changing my rating from 5 to 2 overall as this does not seem to be a common practice at other establishments and should be corrected on the part of Perfect Pour. Leaving my five-star rating for the food as it was very delicious.
The server also failed to deliver 2 copies of the receipt for signing as is normal at most restaurants. There was no customer copy to keep.
A note to future patrons: Be careful when you settle your tab, and make sure you know what you are paying for. āā---------------ā------------------------------------- Great new place downtown. The food was delicious! Loved the bourbon BBQ sauce that was on my burger. My 'Perfect Mule' was perfect! Service was good. We will be happy to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat an awesome surprise! Traveling from Dallas we were looking for a late night meal and we're headed to Buffalo Wild Wings. However, when we went into BWW it was clear they were not going to be serving any more food even though they were open for another hour! We walked out and noticed a pizza place across the street. Crossing the street, I noticed a dimly lit door front with a sign that said bourbon burgers and minority owned. Walked straight to the door hoping the kitchen wasn't closed and noticed immediately that I was definitely was the minority. Haha. The fabulous girl behind the bar told us to sit down and she'd be over in a sec. I asked if the burgers were good. She said we actually are known for how good our burgers are. You're not going to have to twist my arm on that one. I ordered the bourbon burger with the bourbon barbecue sauce. But she recommended the new barbecue sauce that is more of a Mediterranean type I think she said. I travel all over and have sought out a good burger in so many different cities and states and I have to tell you this was probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. The bacon was crispy and plentiful. The bun was toasted and hot. The thickness of the patty was perfect and cooked exactly right. I wasn't sure what onion leaves were but they are like onion rings but not rings and the batter on them was amazing. It wasn't greasy, it wasn't dry. The fries were perfectly done and had just the right amount of seasoning. And their new barbecue sauce was absolutely fantastic. They seriously need to bottle it and sell it. If I am ever back in town again I guarantee you I will come back here to eat. Everyone was kind, food was perfect and the prices were just right. Thank you for being open late and having a nice clean safe place to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA group of us, two couples, came here for a bite to eat. Snagged the last table available and were greeted right away. Unfortunately, that was the end of the good service. Itās a small, nice, quaint place. The music was far too loud - so much so that it felt we were shouting across the table to chat with our friends.
I do have to say that their loaded nachos were delicious.
After our first drink order we didnāt hear from our server for another 15+ minutes. Our burgers were quite over done and we werenāt even asked how we wanted them cooked, yet we still told the server we wanted them medium.. they came out brown all the way through. The burger toppings definitely helped the flavor.
We werenāt drinking alcohol this night so we ordered soft drinks. After requesting a refill we were informed that you only get one free refill.. some advanced notice would have been appreciated.
The kicker to all of this, which honestly could have just been chalked up to an off night for the spot was the bill.
Be aware that they charge an 18% gratuity on āgroupsā of ONE OR MORE people. Again, there is no advanced warning of this, and you are only presented this info after you get the check. Iāve seen this before, but never for groups of less than 4 people. We observed our server taking shots with patrons at the bar.. again not the biggest deal in most places, but when I feel it hinders the service that my group and I receive, it needs called out.
I will never tell someone where, how, or who to spend their money with - these are just things I felt needed called out from...
