We attended dinner with the grinch on 12/11/21. This event was disorganized and a joke. We arrived and instead of being seated in the actual eating area with a nice photo back drop, we were sat at plastic tables in the freezing cold putt putt area where all the workers had on winter jackets. There was at least 50 people without a seat. The menu was not what the venue had sent to me in a prior message, the food was cold and quite frankly not edible. Even my 3 year old who eats everything said "ew this is gross mommy." The tree didnt work that the grinch stood next to and wasn't a great photo opportunity at all. There was no host telling everyone what to do, everyone formed their own line and got in line for food on their own. The people putting the food containers out were rude, the boy walked away from me when I asked a question about the food. There was no crafts or fun activities for the kids as advertised other than edible playdough that melted in your hand when you picked it up. No hand sanitizer anywhere in the building. I requested a refund through eventbrite that night when we left to go get our kids actual food that they could eat and received a response today saying they would've resolved it if i asked that night. I did submit the request that night and the person i tried to approach in the building walked away from me. There was no host so who else was i supposed to go discuss my issues with? My kids left crying, upset, and hungry....

Read moreI think reviews in general of Lock 3 Park in Akron are probably not meaningful if you are attending a specific event you are interested in attending. There are things they do really well. Good parking and amenities like restrooms. That said, if you are the type (as I am) where difficulty and stress accessing the venue is important to you, then the review is quite a bit different. Downtown Akron is a nightmare and I would not advise a sane person to head here. If you are the type that can navigate the (horrible) streets and (terrible) drivers, then you will probably be OK. This is a venue so thinking about access really does matter. It's a decent venue (as reflected in my 4 star review), but everything else around it is terrible. Again, this is from the perspective of someone who is concerned about how someone who is not necessarily neuro-typical would access a venue. Avoid downtown Akron like the plague if you are not...
