I should have known from the start going here was going to be nothing but a hassle.
I called, it automatically goes to “this line has been disconnected” I Emailed, no reply. After maybe 8 times calling on separate times and days, I was able to make a reservation for a party of 25- I was then asked what package I wanted, I asked package for what? I got a snarky response that parties of 25 or more need to order from the package. After being directed to go to the banquet tab and then to the Akron location to look at the options I said I would call back after reviewing the packages taking into consideration dietary needs for multiple people. I re-did a head count and we dropped to 20. I called back was able to get through the first time. Was then transferred to a snarky manager to give my details. I inform her it’s a surprise party with 20 guests. She asks what package. I say no package as we 20 and the website says 25. She snaps, well we have multiple locations and here I know for sure it says 20. (fun fact, it for sure does not). I say well, 2 are babies and I have them in the head count for space. She finally adjusts and accepts my reservation for 18.
I arrive with the guest of honor- we were put in the large, cold party room to the right.
I was informed by my guests that they were treated with attitude when asked how many people and if it was going to be more than 20 that there would be a different menu. I planned it; not them how would they know how many people. Not to mention I gave all that information at least a week and a half ago.
Tables were absolutely disgusting! Everything was sticking to them. Not enough bread for 18 people; didn’t bother asking for more since our waitress was never around. We had to get up and ask for just about everything.
She put a tray of extra drinks in the room for us to help ourselves to, she told us it had everything but iced tea and diet on the tray. When asked for a diet she proceeded to hand a regular to us from the tray and walks right away. She comes back and we ask for a diet again and she laughs and goes oh yea that’s not a diet.
The wait for food wasn’t unreasonable for most of the table. The way things were plated was odd. One guest ordered lasagna with a side of sausage and meatballs. Lasagna was plated on a small plate while the meats were plated in a bowl that was very happy to see us (if you get my drift lol). By the time the last person got her pizza; the first person was finished with his dish. She placed all the checks on the same drink tray for us to grab ourselves incase someone needed to leave sooner than others. Thoughtful, but then wasn’t around to take payment.
When it came to returning the credit cards, she asked who had the red card? Who had the Visa? We asked her to just read the names she replied with well those are on the back.
The screen shot is the banquet menu that is the same for Akron,...
Read moreThis place has the most abhorrent service. Food was sub-par. And our large group was put in a room that looked very uninviting. The table on the other side of the room had all the chairs tipped forward on the table like the place was half closed. But it was still set with salad bowls (how long did OUR salad bowls sit in that room and collect dust??). The salad was room temperature and soggy like it was thrown together an hour before they put it out on the table. Cutlery settings did not exist, they put tins of paper napkins and forks in the middle of the table. How hard is it to put a fork and knife at each place setting?? We had to share knives put out for bread to cut our cold lasagna. There was also not enough bread put out for everyone, I had to share a roll with my husband. Many of us had to go to the bar to get drinks because one server for our group of 25 was NOT enough. Good thing everyone was fine with Iced tea and coke that she threw on a tray for us to take. When entrees came, they were auctioned off, and it was so loud having 3 food runners yelling, asking who got whatever they had in their hands in a giant echoing room. I asked for coffee, that took an exceptionally long time, with dessert, and apparently asking for a refill requires finding YOUR OWN server because when I asked the girl doing nothing in the middle of the main dining room if I could get a refill her only concern was getting the girl taking care of us to get it for me. It's coffee.... Then when she couldnt find our server she did bring a pot out, she had no idea how to turn the cap to get it to come out, so I got a pathetic dribble of coffee in my cup and then she just walked away. After dinner my family was pre bussing our own dishes and putting it on another table by the entry way. It was SO TACKY! I don't know if it was management's decision or the server being greedy, but there needed to be another server taking care of us and they need to be more organized and designate seat numbers. They would have sold a lot more drinks and make bigger tips. We all stayed where we sat so separate checks would be easy. The least she could have done was be organized herself.
My family was incredibly polite but I was very aware that it was lazy service. We tipped appropriately, but I would have been upset if there was automatic gratuity. Demanding 20% when that's the standard of service...
Read moreI'll be honest, I thought this place was something else when I made our reservation but then was told that the place I THOUGHT I was reserving closed YEARS ago. But it was in the same area where we had some other events scheduled so we just went with it and boy, am I glad we did! This place gets an A+ in every area. Service, food, price and atmosphere. Our server's name was Rebecca and she was absolutely AMAZING with our party of NINE. She was at tentative and KIND and she spoke to the children in the group like their favorite aunt would. She honestly treated us like she was serving her own family dinner and made our visit so comfortable. The food was INCREDIBLE! We ordered the feast for 2 and there was so much food on this platter that my family of four had left overs for DAYS. The feast was served with warm bread, a huge salad to share, soup, garlic bread, lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, 2 Italian sausages, ravioli, chicken parm, and a dessert! We also ordered an appetizer and a flat bread pizza for the kids and our bill was less than $60 for my family of 4. We were SHOCKED by the price and expected to be paying way more for the quantity and quality of food that was served. The Spaghetti Warehouse building itself is a REALLY cool building. The size alone is impressive and there just seems to be rooms upon rooms, upon rooms for seating and private parties. There are fun pieces of history stashed throughout the restaurant like an old ski lift, a trolly car, a booth made out of a brass bed and an old fashioned stop light. There are also a few arcade games and claw machines in the entrance area that held the kids' interest for a good while - my favorite were the old carnival style fortune telling machines. Most are only 25-50 cents/play instead of a dollar so you don't feel like you're getting ripped off in the lobby. I'm sure here is a lot more that I am missing that I didn't even notice because I was preoccupied by my children. I think I saw that they have a mystery theater dinner or something too - which I would LOVE to check out. All in all this was a total win and we will definitely...
