I went to Culvers in Madison (on University) last Thursday (4/14/24) and although my other experiences at this specific culvers were always good, this experience made me not want to go back. I ordered the 3 pc cod dinner (similar to captian d's). When I received my meal, it was breaded so thick, that the 3 pieces of fish looked more like 3 breaded dough balls. I did eat 1 and it was just extremely greasy and kinda nasty. The 2nd 2 pieces, I literally broke open (kinda like breaking a piece of hard bread) just to make sure the fish was actually done. It was (thankfully since I had already eaten 1), however I just ate the fish out of the middle of these big globs of friend breading and threw all the breading away. When I ordered this meal in the past, they always give me 2 containers of tarter sauce, and I always ask for malt vinegar (I always use 2 or 3 packets of malt vinegar per fish). When they brought me my meal, they brought me 1 container of tarter sauce and 1 small packet of malt vinegar. I went immediately to the counter and asked for more tarter sauce and vinegar and the the guy tried to charge me extra. I told him that they always give me 2 things of tarter sauce with 3 pieces of fish. He handed me another one and muttered something under his breath. I said I needed some more malt vinegar too and he handed me ONE MORE LITTLE PACKET. I said, dude, I need more than that and he handed me 2 or 3 more packets and said in a rude manner 'you're supposed to request it when you order'. What he didn't know (he didn't take my order) was that I DID request it when I ordered. I just didn't request a certain amount. I wish I would have taken a picture of the fish that I ordered, because someone back in the kitchen obviously needed more training on how to bread the fish. I'm sure I will go back, but I will probably be hesitant to order the fish again (it's always been really good in the past). I regret not asking for the manager. If it happens...
Read moreOrdering/paying was a simple & friendly experience, but we hadn't been in line long before I saw what looked to be our order given to a vehicle ahead, now I am aware it could be that we'd ordered the same thing, which happens, but I'm assuming it was ours because I had to wait 15+ mins in what was a very short line to get our order of 2 small custards while watching 2 cars in front & 3 or more cars behind us get their orders. Employees walked past & no one stopped to see why I was still in the line. When we finally got our 2 custards they were completely melted & soupy with custard melted down the sides, no napkins, & a total mess. I've made the exact order before so I know it's not supposed to look like this.
I don't really care if I get feedback, we haven't had the best experiences with Culver's in the past so it's unlikely we'd be back with other options around. But this is the experience we have to share with others & my hope in this review is that others can avoid this kind of service.
UPDATE: This is the review I tried to leave on your site but you require all my contact information to submit the review which...
Read moreLet me start with this I moved from Birmingham to Madison for family so I drove the night for my move in date is tomorrow and I got hungry. Got to the restaurant because it was close and I had never been.9:30 pm thought I would had ok food maybe below average but I was shocked and impressed. The service was amazing the drive through worker who took my order was amazing inviting and so much more. The fries were crispy and lots of them. Gave me a tender because they seemed small. Got the combo for 11 dollars. I didn't feel chipped when I ordered the food. The chicken was good the meat had a string because it's organic and wasn't highly processed. (Good sign) The young man who delivered my meal was a little skinny and polite asked me for my number to confirm my order. he was friendly and smiled I was shocked. My picture doesn't show it in the best light but it filled my stomach up and tastes decent while being served in the right way. You need to see who worked this night and give them a reward or something because it was on...
