Waffle House — Restaurant in Alabama

Today I left the waffle house upset on many levels, not so much at the staff but the patrons getting togo orders. I sat at the bar next to the register and was able to see everything going on at probably one of the busiest times in any waffle house, 930 am on a Sunday. I watched a lady come in for a to go order and complain becuase she had to wait, and she complained about the watress in front of me washing dishes saying she was splashing all the way over to her, well that was not true because I was sitting right in front of the lady washing dishes it would have been on my food long before it reached the register, and ms togo lady you only knew it I splashed becuase the waitress washing them stopped the waiter from splashing and told him it would splash that way, and she continued to wash them gently as to not splash on my food. I wondered however if this togo lady was trying to get a free meal by complainting, I'm not sure if the lady who rang her up gave her a discount or not but after the gentleman behind that lady stepped up to get his to go order the waitress who was working her butt off washing the dishes and waiting on us tried to help him. I watched him cuss her out and ask for someone else to wait on him she was not rude she tried to continue to wait on him but he would not have it she had to get someone else to finish him. We're you also trying to get a free meal. What a jerk he was. If the waitress had went off on him I would have totally backed her it was all I could do to hold it in. Next time i will snap a picture of you sir and post it on the waffle house website so all these waitress know who you are. To the manager who is a blonde male, how dare you be gone for most of my meal and then come out and tell the lady she didn't need to be washing dishes because other people had to wash their hands well sir you wouldn't have had a sink to wash your hands in if she hadn't done the dishes before you walked out. My advise to you is make sure you're at least in the room for 10 minutes before you get on to one of your waitresses for doing their job just so you know what is actually going on. I will continue to support my local waffle house, becuase of these hard working people behind the counter, who put up with walk in customers for togo orders and think they can grab and go ahead of anything and everyone while there is a full house of patrons and others still waiting to be seated. my advice for to go order don't expect to be in and out at the busiest time of the week. This was the worst eating out experience I’ve ever had. Seriously. Our expectations were low as it’s only a Waffle House, nothing fancy just something quick to eat before we hit the road back to Florida. Our sever, Kim, was extremely rude, knew nothing about the menu and couldn’t take an order correctly; each person had to repeat the hashbrowns several times and point out exactly what we wanted on the menu. We were chastised for not using “Waffle House language” after the 2nd to 3rd time of repeating what we wanted on our hashbrowns. It took 30 minutes to get our food and EVERY order was incorrect. When we told her what was incorrect, no cheese on a sandwich for example, she accused him of already eating it. After that, I was so uncomfortable I left money with my husband and went and sat in the car and waited for the rest of the group who had to deal with paying their bills. She was unwilling to take items off that were incorrect and not touched. It was so awkward and difficult that I will no longer give any Waffle House a try ever again. I feel sorry for...

Caleb is the absolute best Waffle House employee I’ve ever came across other than my husband. I married a former Waffle House employee and this gentleman upholds all old school Waffle House standards we’ve seen. He has the best customer service and had the most outstanding demeanor I’ve seen in such a long time. He made our food and it was cooked to perfection. Was the only one in the facility and treated us with the most welcoming diner experience like how it used to be back in my day. Outstanding gentleman with amazing workability. Man deserves a promotion to the highest degreee. Hard working man with great customer service who represents the company to the highest standards and deserves recognition for it.
