We get coffee here just about everyday you’re open. Today we ordered a Neapolitan and we wanted the cold foam on the hot drink. Yes, we know it will melt but that’s the way we wanted it. We were willing to pay the extra dollar to have the drink we wanted it and the African American girl said “we can’t do that”. We were discouraged because we have ordered it before, we know coffee places don’t “encourage it” but we weren’t asking for something you can’t do, just something you don’t recommend and something we really like ordering. I would like encourage the employees to respect what the customer wants and let the customer order what they want even if it’s not something they recommend. Instead of “we can’t do that” how about, “sure we can do that for you, just a heads up, it is a foam on a hot drink and will melt, is that ok?” …. I feel like telling a customer you can’t do something is telling them they don’t want to go the extra mile to make your order...
Read moreI’m so happy that Yellowhammer finally has a big sit down location! As someone who goes to coffee shops weekly to sit, study and work on art, I’m excited to have another option! But I do have some issues with it so far. The biggest problem is the men’s bathroom door. It doesn’t seem to work properly as I’ve been walked in on and seen others get walked in on. That NEEDS to be fixed asap because I just don’t think that’s very acceptable. My other issue is that the seats in the vault room are really big and far from the table, it really just needs some nice big throw pillows to sit on. I also think the row of study tables really need outlets because that’s quite a necessity for most people. I was also told there was no way to get my drink heated up which is a shame. Thank you, Yellowhammer 💛☕ || Original review: Came back home to Mobile for a visit and was so excited to see a new coffee spot in town. The coffee was quite disappointing. I wanted to like it so bad that I went two days in a row and ordered something different, but it wasn't great. I'm admittedly a coffee snob (I don't even drink Starbucks) so maybe my expectations were too high? But the customer service was great, the establishment has an awesome environment with plenty of seating to enjoy both indoors and outside. Service was quick and everyone was so friendly.
