Good: Tea on tap! Different flavors of tea have already been made and they are readily available, which means you can taste the tea first. The concept is thoughtful and helps avoid buyers remorse. Lavender ube flavor was just right, not overpowering and not watery. I can’t explain the Mango tea— but it didn’t taste like tea with milk added and mango flavoring added — I didn’t taste each component. It wasn’t bad, just different. Boba consistency was chewy— hey, it’s in the name— and the good kind of chewy. Happy hour is from 6-8pm; buy one, get one 50%! The shop is clean and they sell things like collectibles and game cards. Quan was super helpful and told me how the business got started. They were the first to bring boba to the whole state of Florida! I went to Chewy Boba twice in a row. First night to get boba tea, second night to try the sugar cane juice. We heard about the fresh sugar cane and how the sugar cane is grown in southern Florida so it’s very fresh. Unfortunately the juicing machine was broken. Wahwaa.
To improve on: space is limited inside so I understand that there isn’t a lot of real estate to put in more tables and chairs. There is a long table with benches inside. The menu on the wall, while pretty and gives a modern touch, is confusing. There is a comprehensive, organized, and clear menu on the counter at the register but if you are waiting in line, you won’t get to see what is offered till you get to the front and it makes ordering quickly difficult, especially if there is a line behind you and...

Unfortunately, the person at the counter chose to go back and forth with me for about 10 minutes over the name of the drink, which felt unnecessarily argumentative and unprofessional.
Instead of being helped, I felt dismissed and confused by the unclear responses and demeanor. Ultimately, I decided not to place an order and walked out. As a once-faithful customer, this was disappointing. I’ve decided I won’t be returning to Chewy on University. From now on, I’ll be going to Shaka Shaka Tea House...

Note to owner, ive been living here for over 35 years in suncrest neighboorhood and seen almost every business come and go at that location. You never even told me what the base of the taro milk tea is, nor do you have any nutritional information for your drinks. Wish you good luck cause with that attitude youre going to need it.
Edit. Teapioca lounge has all the nutrition online macro breakdown and calories.. and they have great...
