My partner and I stumbled across Dandelion today while searching for a late brunch spot and WOW – what a rare gem! Most places close by about 2 or 3, but Dandelion is open until 4 during the week, which was perfect for us since I work overnight and sleep during the day.
From the moment you walk in, the space just radiates good energy: warm, calm, and peaceful in a way that just makes you want to linger. It’s bright and welcoming, with an airy design that feels clean, quaint, and just… happy. I could easily see myself coming here to get some work done on a quiet afternoon. Inside seating was so pleasant, but they also have a south-west facing patio if you prefer to brunch in the sun :)
We ordered at the kiosk (super easy, though you can also order at the counter) and everything came out quickly. Drinks: the iced matcha cloud latte with oat milk was hands down the BEST, creamiest matcha I’ve ever had – this is not an exaggeration - I actually ordered two! Food: we had the bulgogi croissant sandwich and the egg & kimchi sandwich – both delicious. Even the small salad on the side was incredibly fresh and worth finishing.
The staff were kind and friendly and checked in to make sure we were happy with our meal (thank you!!)
Bonus points: I noticed they have at least one high chair for little ones.
Dandelion is more than a café- it’s a sanctuary we’re lucky to have...
Read moreWent here to telecommute in the morning. The coffee options are great! I ordered the Einspänner and my wife ordered the matcha cloud. Both are very good and the Matcha Cloud is probably one of their most popular drinks. I can see why, it’s creamy but light and offers the perfect ratio of matcha foam and milk, and not overly bitter nor too sweet.
The Einspänner strikes a good balance of a milky and iced coffee drink. Not too sweet nor too bitter.
We ordered the kimchi and egg sandwich also which is a Korean fusion ciabatta sandwich. The kimchi adds a nice kick to the sandwich and comes with a balsamic vinegar spring mix salad.
Overall for 2 people we paid around $40 for 2 drinks, a sandwich and a pastry. Seems like a lot for a coffee spot, but after trying it, the quality justifies the cost.
For atmosphere, there is plenty of seating and WiFi available. 2 of the tables have outlets available, so if you plan to telecommute from here, I’d recommend getting here early. Though I suspect that wouldn’t be too hard considering it’s not too busy here during the weekdays. As far as other amenities there is a very clean bathroom available and...
Read moreDandelion Kaffe is a charming and refreshingly unique spot in Alameda. It’s a matcha-forward cafe, which instantly sets it apart — you can tell they’re trying to do something special here, and I’m all for it.
The ambiance is cozy and nostalgic, especially with the bar seating that gives off an old-timey vibe. It’s the kind of place that works just as well for a relaxed brunch with friends as it does for solo time with a book and a latte.
The brunch menu is right up my alley — Asian fusion with savory options. There’s real thought behind the dishes, and it shows.
Now for the matcha: the taste still has room to grow! It was a bit gritty, and I wasn’t a fan of the sweetener used. That said, the drink was well-mixed, frothy, nice and cold for a hot day. I’m hopeful for what’s ahead. I’d love to see the quality of the matcha improve, and I’m definitely curious if their menu is seasonal. This place has a lot of heart and potential, and I’m looking forward to giving it another...
