Lazybird Coffee — Restaurant in Alameda

Been obsessed with banana matcha lately and my cousin in the east bay recommended Lazybird as she had seen this cafe on TikTok. Upon entering, I had noticed the banana matcha latte was not on the menu. We asked the barista if it was available and it was. Yay! We ordered two banana matcha lattes and one Samoas latte, iced for all three. I couldn’t wait to try the matcha, and when we were served our drinks, I was eager to take a boomerang of our cheers for ig. My cousin and bf went ahead of me and tried their drinks and my cousin instantly mentioned how “watery” the banana matcha was and that she did not taste the banana. I thought maybe mine would be made differently and went on to try it. I have my drink a thorough stir and took a sip. It was definitely a let down, especially coming from having the banana matcha three days in a row from Phin Cafe in Fremont. Lazybird Coffee is the most innovative cafe to come to Alameda. They have a diverse menu reaching from Kalua pork sandwich, Yuzu limeades, Avocado toast, Ube lattes, smoked salmon brown rice salads, and much more. I went a few times and each time has been a treat, I loved their kimchi croissants which had a egg on top that you cut. When you cut it all that eggy goodness with the crispness of the croissant and the flavorful kimchi melted in my mouth, so delicious. The congee is so good and perfect for cold days, I think it’s the best congee I had. It was flavorful and you can change up how you want it, Yau Choy, Kimchi or even Kalua pork. I recently found out about Lazy Bird Coffee on Facebook. I was reading people recommending it for different flavored latte. I decided to go try it yesterday. I ordered their Honey Lavender Latte. (I was looking for a place that makes it after liking it at Cafe Jolie). I also got their Ube Latte for my husband. I wanted to try some of their pastries and breakfast items. I got us an Almond Croissant, a Creme Brulee Filled Donut, an Ube Maladada and a Yau Choy & Gruyere, Egg, Sriracha Aioli Croissant. We liked all of it. I looked forward to going back to try their Horchata latte and Matcha latte. They were sold out on some pastries I wanted to get. I look forward to trying those when I go back.
