I have been to Heidi’s a handful of times in the past 6 months. It had become me and my husbands favorite for American breakfast food. Today was a poor experience. We were sat quickly and one of the workers asked if we wanted coffee. I said my husband would and he said he would be back with a cup, they never came back with any. When they took our order my husband ordered corn beef hash and I ordered the chicken strip dinner. The menu says the chicken strip dinner comes with five chicken strips, soup or salad, fries or mashed potatoes, and a dinner roll. Our server never asked what soup or salad I would want and never asked if I wanted any sauce. When we got our food my husband got chicken fried steak, and I got the plate pictured. My husband got the complete wrong meal. My plate was missing one chicken strip plus the soup or salad. I feel like the missing items alone would be enough for a poor review. However, the food also didn’t taste good. I am giving them 2 stars because the inside was clean and the workers were still friendly, but you have to give people what they ordered and have the food be good. We will probably try them another time and if the food is still bad we...
Read moreWe live close and would have loved to make this our new breakfast spot. We were seated upon arrival, the restaurant was busy so our waiter took awhile to serve us. We were okay with that, being Alaskans we know how busy restaurants can get in the summer. Our server was kind and helpful, even though the cook was very loudly yelling at her and blaming her for mistakes on orders. The food was okay, my skillet was pretty greasy, my partner said his waffle was okay and his bacon had hair in it (the chef had medium hair and no hair net.) the booth we sat in had people behind us that kept pushing up against the chair and that completely ruined what we had left of an appetite. All in all I just feel bad for the server who was trying so hard to help all her tables and appease the loud chef (that all tables near the kitchen could hear.) The hair in the bacon and wobbly backs of the booths, on top of having to listen to the chef yell at multiple people was just off putting. We most likely won’t be back. I’m really only giving this as high a review as I am because of our server who was trying to go...
Read moreI came when they opened and again today. Fast service and the food was out so quick! Also, delicious pancakes. Better than 50% of the pancakes in town, and I’ve been trying them all. For real, the pancakes shine here. Come here for pancakes. Unfortunately, the omelets are made from egg powder, which is disappointing. I picked out the reindeer and didn’t eat the rest. My boyfriend’s potatoes in his skillet were undercooked and he didn’t eat those. If you need something fast and comfortable, this is a fine place, but less so if you care about omelets being made from real eggs. The first time, it was similar and we tried to give it a second change because they had just opened. I’m so glad this place is here to bring more dining options to this part of town, but I do wish they would make omelets with eggs (a core item on the breakfast menu) and quality checked their food a bit more. I’m hopeful the owners are open to feedback. I would love to return and have this as a go-to option but not with the food...
