I have been to Heidi’s a handful of times in the past 6 months. It had become me and my husbands favorite for American breakfast food. Today was a poor experience. We were sat quickly and one of the workers asked if we wanted coffee. I said my husband would and he said he would be back with a cup, they never came back with any. When they took our order my husband ordered corn beef hash and I ordered the chicken strip dinner. The menu says the chicken strip dinner comes with five chicken strips, soup or salad, fries or mashed potatoes, and a dinner roll. Our server never asked what soup or salad I would want and never asked if I wanted any sauce. When we got our food my husband got chicken fried steak, and I got the plate pictured. My husband got the complete wrong meal. My plate was missing one chicken strip plus the soup or salad. I feel like the missing items alone would be enough for a poor review. However, the food also didn’t taste good. I am giving them 2 stars because the inside was clean and the workers were still friendly, but you have to give people what they ordered and have the food be good. We will probably try them another time and if the food is still bad we won’t come back.

Went to Heidi’s around 12 on a Wednesday, got right in. First time coming here and will definitely be back. Loved the clean timeless decor inside the restaurant with plenty of seating to fit lots of people. The photo I shared above is just half the restaurant. We ordered the 2x2 which came with eggs, bacon, and pancakes. So good!! Then the Waffle combo, came with a Belgium waffle, 2 eggs and 2 bacon (or sausage) also good! I got the farmer skillet and it was really good too and huge! It came with 2 big pancakes that I barely touched and brought home. I was so full. It was my sons birthday and they were so kind to bring him a yummy treat to celebrate! The waitress was so kind and made us feel like instant friends. Can’t say enough good things about this new diner. It’s in a great location just off international on your way to or from the airport. Make sure to stop by!

Stopped for lunch, thought it would be ok after reading reviews. Ordered a club sandwich, very simple product. When it came out it was not cut four ways, I can live with that; however, the tomato's were cut close to a half inch think, turkey was pulled so high I could barely get my mouth over the bread, and the turkey had a slight slimy texture. When I bit down mayonnaise oozed out the sides and came through the bread. The flavor was truly awful. I told the waiter, and he took it away. I offered to pay and leave, short on time, but he didn't charge anything. The issue was handled well by the waiter, but there is no excuse for a restaurant kitchen to screw up a club sandwich. The fried were another story, soggy and greasy, they were warm but felt like they were microwaved or something.

We live close and would have loved to make this our new breakfast spot. We were seated upon arrival, the restaurant was busy so our waiter took awhile to serve us. We were okay with that, being Alaskans we know how busy restaurants can get in the summer. Our server was kind and helpful, even though the cook was very loudly yelling at her and blaming her for mistakes on orders. The food was okay, my skillet was pretty greasy, my partner said his waffle was okay and his bacon had hair in it (the chef had medium hair and no hair net.) the booth we sat in had people behind us that kept pushing up against the chair and that completely ruined what we had left of an appetite. All in all I just feel bad for the server who was trying so hard to help all her tables and appease the loud chef (that all tables near the kitchen could hear.) The hair in the bacon and wobbly backs of the booths, on top of having to listen to the chef yell at multiple people was just off putting. We most likely won’t be back. I’m really only giving this as high a review as I am because of our server who was trying to go...

I came when they opened and again today. Fast service and the food was out so quick! Also, delicious pancakes. Better than 50% of the pancakes in town, and I’ve been trying them all. For real, the pancakes shine here. Come here for pancakes. Unfortunately, the omelets are made from egg powder, which is disappointing. I picked out the reindeer and didn’t eat the rest. My boyfriend’s potatoes in his skillet were undercooked and he didn’t eat those. If you need something fast and comfortable, this is a fine place, but less so if you care about omelets being made from real eggs. The first time, it was similar and we tried to give it a second change because they had just opened. I’m so glad this place is here to bring more dining options to this part of town, but I do wish they would make omelets with eggs (a core item on the breakfast menu) and quality checked their food a bit more. I’m hopeful the owners are open to feedback. I would love to return and have this as a go-to option but not with the food...
