The place is amazing taste wise. For the most part the service is good, although the owner is somewhat moody. I am a little disappointed right now as the owner has changed his policy on gyozo(pot stickers) I and my kids try and stay away from vegetable oil and have always got them steamed, today they take too much time for the kitchen to make so they will not cater to the customers "wants"(because this is not a need). I really am not satisfied with this... it is sad as it has always been a ritual when we go there. Also today we are not allowed to get vegetable pad thai. =^( I have always had high regards of this place due to the pride they take in their food. The service has always been a gamble but I never held that against them as people have emotions and have bad days, I get it. I am also a little offended as I work for the post office and found some documents for this business loose in the mail... me myself I go out of my way to keep my customers happy so I hand delivered these documents to the business. I will change my review to 3 or 4 stars after my mood about this has gone away, haha! Thanks for reading my review if you...
Read moreI've been going here for around 11 years. This is something I pen with a heavy heart. My wife picked me up some food as she was going through Albany as is our tradition, from one of our favorite places, and for the first time ever, I was disappointed and saddened. She brought me chicken Katsu and house special fried rice. The chicken Katsu was fine, but the portion was smaller, and the price was higher. I know times are tough, so I figured it was no big deal. You used to get 2 whole big cutlets. Now, it just looked like one. The house special fried rice was a disappointment. The shrimp was at least still good quality, but that's where the positives end. It was a salty oily mess. Way too much shoyu or soy sauce, whichever was used and just way too much sesame oil. It was about half of what the portion used to be, and gone was the finely crafted balance of sweet elements of bulgogi beef and the rich umami of the pork and fried rice. I've known the owners for years. They literally watched my kids grow up, and yet I'm hesitant to return. This feels like one more loss in these...
Read moreBe aware that the prices they listed on open menu when you click on the website link are VERY wrong. Our take out order should have been about $24 and it ended up being over $40. When I realized the error when I got home I called and they said the prices are just out of date. They are currently only doing take out so I imagine a lot of people are getting charged a lot more than they expect.
They ran out of bean sprouts for the pho and there was barely any basil, they didn't offer any discount or throw in any extras to make up for what was missing. The noodles were very geasy and my partner hates greasy food and likes pho because it's typically not greasy at all so she didn't eat eat the noodles. The Galbi was on the smaller side especially for the price.
We both were unhappy and still hungry and felt we were very misled by the prices listed. We could have easily gotten a much better meal and more food for the price. I don't think I've ever gone out of my way to write a negative review for a restaurant but this was disappointing on so...
