2017 Review - Apparently this is the last Burgerville south out of Portland - Too bad. Because they have locally grown, ethically sourced, and delicious fast food. I wish I could get it throughout my home state!
Update (9/2023): For the first time since leaving Portland in 2012, I live in a city with a Burgerville. Sadly, it is no longer the Burgerville I grew up eating. (I know, it's hard to compete with the deep pocket corporations - sadly)
Everything I wrote in 2017 is still true. However, their facilities are deteriorating, kind of sticky, and caught somewhere between the 1970s and our drive-thru, post-pandemic society. We often stop here on our way home from points North. The drive-thru line fills the parking lot and can be daunting. (today - there was only one other car and it's our first time doing the drive thru in years. Probably? And it was a perfect experience!))
When we order online, there are often errors in the order, calling ahead is awkward. Sometimes the food will sit on the delivery-take out rack and we have to squeeze in and get it.
I want Burgerville to not just survive, but thrive - I want better and more access to their food. But life is busy, and when I get hungry, I wanna eat. (I'd probably stop there 3x a week if it was easier and quicker)
BTW, I had my first No6 burger tonight - it was great! Reminds me of the former Tillamook Cheese Burger! Fries are always awesome - as are the fresh fruit shakes!

Read moreI ordered through the app, a burger, fries, soda, and a shake. I also requested ketchup and that was shown on the ticket. I had to remind them to give me my drink and when I got home I found that they had forgotten the ketchup, despite everything being listed on the ticket. But at least they answered the drive-thru this time, the last time I tried going I pulled up to the speaker after the person in front of me ordered and sat there without being acknowledged for at least 5 minutes before I gave up and left. Do I guess this time was an improvement on the customer service side. The shake was excellent, the fries were better than In-N-Out (damning with faint praise, In-N-Out fries are the absolute nastiest fries that I have ever had,) the soda was good, but the burger made McDonald's taste like a gourmet burger. I still haven't figured out how Burgerville manages to combine high quality ingredients into something that tastes like low quality vending machine food, it truly takes skill and dedication to make something that bad. If I can get them to answer the drive-thru I will get shakes from time to time. But I wouldn't take their burgers unless they paid me and then I would use their money to buy something edible somewhere else. In summary, if you want to pay rather high prices for non-existent customer service and some of the worst food you will ever have just stop by your local...
Read moreI love burgerville, but they're not located in my hometown, so I look forward to them when I travel. Today, I thought I would also introduce my parents to them. We arrived to find the dining room is still closed due to Covid. So, I pulled over, scanned the code in the window and downloaded the app. I signed up and registered my cc card. Then I and my parents placed an online order. But, when I went to pay, I got an error message saying the service wasn't available. We had now been outside for 10-15 minutes. I'm sure employees saw us. I knocked on the door and showed the employee who answered the error and she told me that the online order system wasn't turned on, but she thinks it will be turned on later. My question is, if you know your online system isn't working, why not put a sign up warning people, or at the very least come tell them. I went through the drive thru and warned someone else who pulled up to make an order about the problem. My other problem is that all the outside tables are chained up. I understand not letting people in the dining room, but as travelers in two separate cars, it was hard to find a good spot to eat. We literally used a fred meyer shopping cart...
