I don’t typically leave poor reviews and I wouldn’t now except this was probably the worst experience ever. The place is dirty. Floors are filthy and the bar area looks disheveled. Our waitress brought our order and the food was fine. She said she would be back to bring soy sauce and refills of drinks but never came back. No big deal, we got up and got it ourselves. As we walked in I looked at their register to see if it was tap to pay compatible. It was, so we preceded to sit down. I just didn’t have any cash or cards on me other than the wallet on my iPhone. As we go to check out I ask about tap to pay. I’m told they don’t have tap to pay. The clover system they use clearly takes it. But I say ok. Ask about local ATM machines in hopes I can use tap to pay to make a withdrawal. Two local ATMs don’t allow it so I drive to Walmart and buy a gift card. All this while I’ve left my family in the lobby for me to return. I get back with the gift card and activate it while at the register. The card informs me I have to wait 54 minutes for the funds to be available. So the lady sees my frustration and THEN says, well, let’s use tap to pay. WHAT?!? She let me leave my family there while I ran all over town trying to get cash when the tap to pay worked the whole time. That...
Read moreFor discerning lovers of traditional Japanese cuisine, you had best try your luck anywhere else. Little Tokyo Restaurant features sub-par Japanese-inspired food at outrageously inflated prices. A bright, glossy veneer of Asian-themed decor do little to mask the grungy, disheveled interior--most notably a bathroom in a state of obvious neglect, a checkout station that resembles a college student's dorm room in disarray, and a filthy cement floor that had lost its polish years ago. If the ambience isn’t a deterrence at this point, then the food should be. The exorbitant prices of the sushi selections belie the bafflingly inferior quality of the ingredients and the compromised integrity of the sushi. For instance, the Salmon Skin Roll contains filler imitation crabmeat, and the Spicy Yellowtail Roll's spiciness is dried red pepper flakes sprinkled on top. The Bang Bang Shrimp is an embarrassingly executed knockoff, overly sauced and carelessly plated. Indiscriminate foodies who enjoy “Japanese" hibachi restaurants and little copycat sushi restaurants tucked in corporate strip malls will feel right at home with Little Tokyo's razzle-dazzle menu. But serious fans of properly made Japanese cuisine will find bewildered disappointment at this...
Read moreTerrible service. Terrible sushi.
Waitress shouted, "What do you want to drink?" from the KITCHEN as I walked to my table... so it went downhill from there. We waited over an hour for an appetizer and when I asked about it, the waitress casually mentioned they were out of that item. When I asked about the rest of the food she said, "Well I don't make the food!" A simple, "I'm sorry for the delay, I will check." would have done just fine. When the food came, the sushi fell apart and the "smoked salmon" was WAY overcooked and browning! It was so fishy, I think maybe it had gone bad. Imagine fish sitting out in the sun, and that is what it tasted like. Just gross. My friend had a regular entree and although it was okay it was such a small portion for the price. The waitress never checked on us, or refilled drinks. When we went to check out, the people at the front were very rude and couldn't figure out where our ticket was.... I have business lunches all the time, and I will never go back. Save your money and go...
