This was our first visit to Jefferson's. We went last night at 5:40 pm. It took 15 minutes to seat us (party of 3). We didn't mind the wait, it gave us a chance to look over the menu. We were greeted within 5 minutes of sitting down (Luann was our waitress). Our drinks came out (not our waitress but another delivered them to us - didn't give straws - just dropped and dashed off). Our order was taken within another 5 minutes and the wait began. We were seated on the back wall, 3 booths from the bar. My husband received his salad after 10 minutes and in another 10 minutes and we got our appetizer. 45 minutes went by and we decided there wasn't going to be any entrees for us. As we were getting up to leave the food came out, but had lost my appetite by the time we decided to leave. 45 minutes allows plenty of time to make quite a few observations. The first booth in the next row (closest to the bar) had one man seated. There were no less than 3 waitresses standing at his booth with him. Eating, carrying on, and generally collecting pay for standing around. What I found amusing was the comment of the waitress as she went by... "I'm too lazy for this job..." Indeed. We ended up being there well over an hour and a half. There was plenty of time to have food come out in an acceptable amount of time. Yes, they were somewhat busy... but, the table across from us sat down after us and got up to leave after they received their order and enjoyed their meal... while we had still not received our food. Jefferson's of Albertville had every opportunity to shine - they just fell way short of their goal last night. Luann was hustling and we did not fault her for the delay in food. Perhaps if the waitstaff would pull together and work as a team instead of leaving it to just a few to do the work, this Jefferson's could be a more enjoyable place to visit. Read moreThis is by far, hands down, the most poorly run restaurant I’ve been to. Our previous visit, they were out of most everything on the menu. They frankly had no business even opening for the day. We very reluctantly came back today, hoping for a better experience but that did not happen. Upon arriving, we were told it would be a 35 minute wait. We went to the bar to grab a drink to enjoy while waiting. The bartender was very sweet but, bless her heart, worst bartender I’ve ever seen. I ordered a beer and a vodka drink and she had me repeat my order 3 times so she could write it down. No sense of urgency and there were people EVERYWHERE waiting for drinks. Drinks came and were fine. Our 35 minute wait turned into an hour and 10 minute wait. We counted that 7 tables were sat, in the entire restaurant. Of the 7, 5 had food and were eating. The remaining tables (most of them) were open. A member of our party, who is a restaurant consultant, went to the restroom. To get to the restroom, you have to pass the kitchen. When she passed the kitchen, the full staff, including the hostess, was standing back there, hanging out. There were so many people in the vestibule, you could not move. But they literally just hid. My friend asked a server why no one had been sat is 45 minutes and she said her GM advised that no one could be sat. My friend requested to speak to the GM but she did not come out. Read moreGreat place and great food. Update, I've had nothing but good experiences here since original post. But... Yesterday me and a group went, ordered 50 wings for everyone at the table to share. We started eating when the food was brought out. The waitress comes back a few minutes later saying we had received someone else's wings. Lol, she took the wings after we had already started eating from the basket... We had touched this food! She brings the basket back out a couple minutes later and gives them to another table. We were telling the waitress we didn't receive all of our wings and the Mgr had to come and count the wings to be satisfied we were telling the truth. During this conversation the waitress tells us she had to add a few wings to the basket she took off our table previously before giving it to the other folks. We weren't really upset about the mix-up on the order, it happens. But two things went wrong, pulling food from someones table after it had been eaten from and giving it to an unknowing customer, then being defensive about shorting an order of wings only to have a manager verify.
