I'm disappointed I even have to leave one star but I have no choice.I have been a loyal customer for along time. The rice was hard as a rock today so I asked the waitress if I could get some fresh rice and she said it's one batch of rice for the day and that it wasn't made fresh. So before I knew it the cook stormed out from the back he looked very upset and started yelling at us he said that is the kind of rice they sent him and if we didn't like it to Dam bad !!He said that the rice looked like mud but that was what they had sent him. Those were his exact words. He also admits to having cockroaches in the bathroom he said it didnt matter since people dont eat in the bathroom. He also said to not go back if we were gonna complain .We either had to eat the disgusting rice or to bad.He didn't care that we have been loyal customers or any of that what so ever.I recorded the outburst of him yelling and cussing us out over his hard rice.We were never asking for anything free or a discount we just wanted edible rice.I will be posting the outburst video on you tube look under Chinese Cuisine outburst of Albuquerque. IF YOU CHOOSE TO EAT HERE GOOD LUCK with the bad attitudes and the roach infested restaurant. You will get better service from the roaches. And his hands were all full of...
Read moreThis is Americanized Chinese food, but it is far from typical. While your typical (and not Chinese) breaded, fried and sauced menu items are available, they specialize instead on less greasy, far more tasty styles. The Sa-Cha, Schezuan, and Hot Garlic Sauce items are particularly delicious. The spicy items are always excellent; mild (to a NM palate) by default, they aren't afraid to make items seriously spicy if you ask.
Many of the best menu items are uniquely prepared or rarely encountered in NM. The "Minced Pork and Fresh Tofu" (Mapo Dofu) is excellent, as is the Vegetarian "Spicy Tofu with Mushrooms" (my favorite). The "House Chicken" (General Tso's) is only lightly breaded and has good dose of ginger with a hint of citrus. Most interesting of all is the Hot & Sour soup, which is both spicy, tart, and completely unrelated to any other preparation of this soup I've ever had.
I've been eating here for years whenever I visit Albuquerque, but you don't have to take my word for it: the rest of the glowing reviews are...
Read moreWe have been going here once we learned we had a chinese food restaurant near us. . I I used to order the wonton war soup in california similar to this but this by far has definitely more flavor lots of everything in it. Vegetables are just the way I like it. This version is called, "House Wonton Soup", which has everything in it. Meat, Vegetables, Shrimp and much more! Absolutely deliciousssss. I ate this soup while going through chemo and loved that I could keep it down. I think the flavor is the reason doesn't taste watered down like most or bland has that lite salt taste but not like salt just packed with great flavor and they give you the extra broth on the side with it which of course I would drink by itself the next day. Five Stars...
