Ugh! I’ll never return to this place! The only good thing about this Bosque Brewery location is the beer itself. Since you can get that at other locations, other restaurants in ABQ and most stores that sell beer, don’t bother stopping in. I was excited when this location opened because it’s very close to where I live, but I’ll never go back. Two nights in a row I had the same “server” who provided the worst service I’ve ever experienced. On this second night, her so-called “service” was worse than the previous night, when my friend and I had only ordered beers - and she kept us waiting to order even our first round. On this particular visit, when I was celebrating my birthday with my sister and niece, it was as if this same “server” from the night before didn’t realize that service was the primary aspect of her job. She never actually served us anything, all of that was done by the food runners. We barely ever saw our “server.” Never did she check on our food. She took forever to ask if we wanted anything else, and when she did she was walking by as if she assumed we were going to say “no.” I ordered a second beer - after my first one had been empty for about 10 minutes - hoping to drink it while I still had food on my plate. At least 10 minutes later I stood up to see if I could locate our “server” but she was nowhere in sight. It wasn’t even a busy night. I saw maybe 6 tables with customers and at least 2 servers on staff. Anyway, absolute negligence on the part of the person who was supposed to serve us, a terrible taco plate that should have been described on the menu as “mini-tacos” because they were easily half the size of a normal taco, and not very good - quite dry and flavorless, and then having us wait another 20 minutes after we’d told her we wouldn’t be ordering anything else to bring us a check. In fact, we were getting up to walk out - hoping the threat of a dine-and-dash departure would get her attention, which it did, and then she seemed surprised that we wanted an actual paper check rather than her just reading the total off of her device. Just ridiculous! Terrible service. Subpar food. Extremely cold inside, and nothing good about this place besides the beer = THIS...
Read moreTo be fair, the first time I went here, I had an enjoyable experience: The waiter was very friendly and attentive, and the food was good. So, I suggested this place to celebrate my brother's birthday last weekend since it's in our neighborhood. However, the server makes all the difference. This time, the service was so poor that for the first time in my life, I didn't even leave a tip at all! (I usually always leave at least 20%) After we got our food, the waitress came by our table one time and my brother ordered a second drink while we were still eating dinner. At least 10 or 15 minutes passed, and we had all finished eating, but no one ever served his drink. Only when he started walking to the bar to see if they could just give him his drink directly did another server ask if he needed something else. Another 5 minutes passed before he was finally served his drink. The waitress asked if we wanted anything else and we all said no. We figured that would be her cue to bring us the check so we could pay while my brother finished his beer. But another 20-30 minutes passed and we were just sitting there ready to leave, but seemingly totally forgotten by the waitress. It wasn't even busy, only 5 or 6 tables between the 2 servers. We finally stood up to leave and that was the only thing that brought the waitress back to our table. We asked for the check and instead she just told us the total from her ordering device and asked us how we wanted to split it. We never said we wanted to split it since we were treating my brother for his birthday! So she FINALLY brings the check and then hovers over us while I get my credit card to pay. (She also overcharged us on the already overpriced build you own burger that was supposed come with one free topping and only add $1 for any extra toppings) This was definitely not a good way to celebrate my brother's birthday and I will never go here again because it's hit or miss depending on who's taking your order (the name on the check was Dora E) I only feel badly for the other employees who did their jobs that night by cooking and bringing us our food. The waitress only took our orders and then ignored our table for the rest...
Read moreWe really wanted to like this place but our first visit will be our last. In fact, we immediately went to the location in Central afterwards and what a diff! It’s like black and white. The San Mateo location is a refurbished Applebee’s and it reeks of that. My mom even pointed out that it looked like the same people that sit at the bar like at Applebees. The booths and tables…all Applebees. The patio, even in the blaring sun, had no umbrellas, fans, mists or shade. You just couldn’t escape the Applebee’s ambiance. We spent $110 and 110% regret it. The drinks are small (again we went to Central and they were bigger). I had the Santa Fe Salad and it’s 100% made of spring mix…all the prickly leafed bad parts of spring mix…awful. It should be mixed with Romain and iceberg otherwise the prickly leafs drown out the texture. No tortilla chips in the salad. The chicken was delish though. My parents had the Mexican brats on a pretzel bun (ok?). They loved the flavor and the way the brats were cooked. They said the best they’ve had although not enough to return. The pretzel bun was good as well. More sauce would have been nice as opposed to drizzled. We also ordered the Asian flavored chicken bites for appetizers and they were ok. What was a bummer is it didn’t come with an Asian flavored dipping sauce…it was ranch! Odd and didn’t use. Our server was ok. When we asked about different dishes hoping to get suggestions…every response was…meh. No excitement about any dish and now in hindsight, I see why. I recommend skipping this place and going to a real brewery. I don’t see this one lasting unless it’s for the...
