This is my second time going to this restaurant. The first experience was a few years ago. The food was very good. The older lady who attended us was very nice. I decided to pick up lunch today, since my first experience was a good one. I ordered my food about 5 minutes before my lunch hour so that when I arrived it would be ready. It's about a 10 minute drive. I ended up leaving a half an hour late to lunch. When I arrived, I had to wait outside a few minutes before being acknowledged. I gave the lady my name. She asked if I already paid, (something I thought she would have already known, as I assumed that their online ordering site should have noted that). I said yes. She asked to see my receipt. I showed her my confirmation email. Online I chose to pay the tip in cash. When she looked at my receipt, she said, "you didn't add a tip?" I said, "No, I planned on paying in cash". She just looked at me, almost with disdain. She said, "the guy just called it in, it'll be ready in about 10 minutes". I don't know who "the guy" is, but I assume that their online ordering site is handled by a 3rd party. It was already 50 minutes after I had originally placed my order. At this point. I was not happy with the way things were going, so I decided that I was not going to tip. When the 10 minutes were up, I went to get my food. The lady came out, tied up my bag as I said thank you. She didn't say a word, she just pushed the bag toward me and went back inside. WOW. Rude. That totally rubbed me the wrong way! The food was very good, but with that kind of treatment, I don't know if I will ever give them my business again. Very...
Read moreWhenever we travel we look for restaurants that have a good assortment of vegan food. We found this little gem nestled in the northern part of Albuquerque, New Mexico. A small Thai restaurant that when we walked in the door instantly set off my hunger with the aroma. We got a seat and looked over the menu. Asked the server a ton of questions. And sat back and waited for our senses to be overwhelmed with tasty food. And the cooks did not disappoint. The rice was a blend of both white and forbidden rice molded into the shape of a heart. The vegetables were cooked to the perfect bite, and the sauces full of flavors that had a little party in my mouth. The interior of the restaurant was decorated in red and gold. Tables were dark wood. It created an intimate atmosphere for dining. We did not feel rushed during our meal and took our time enjoying each other’s company. It had been a long trip from Kansas to New Mexico, and a good meal helped shake off the road dust. I look forward to another meal at Thai Vegan. One note for other vegan travelers: There are two Thai Vegan restaurants listed for Albuquerque. Make sure to go to the one on Osuna Dr. The other restaurant listed used to be a vegan restaurant and connected to Thai Vegan, but not anymore. Even though they haven’t changed their name, it is completely false advertising. #veganrestaurant #vegandining...
Read moreAvoid the bland fried rice and chow main.. I looked through other reviews before choosing this place and I can disagree more. Over $30 spent and my wife and I threw away both our orders. The service was fine and took all covid precautions but the food was horrible. I had the fried rice, it was semi sweet, soggy and tasteless. I found salt in the car but there was nothing that could have helped me stomach it. My wife ordered the chow main and it tasted exactly like the rice. Weird thing is, the zucchini was over cooked but the broccoli was perfectly cooked. Makes me think the added some already cooked items or maybe frozen veggies. The noodles were hard and a little undercooked and not to mention semi sweet. The only reason I didn't give them a 1 star was because their vegan beef with mayo the put on the side was good so we were able to eat that. Also we ordered a side of steemed broccoli that we were able to eat even though it didn't have any hint of salt or any flavor. The only reason we didn't return the food was because we are traveling across the country and this was simply a stop we made for food. We didn't eat there but on the road. But I'm pretty upset to have had spent so much money on something I couldn't...
