I didn’t want to give a bad review but I am so disappointed! 😔
I stayed at the Drury Inn on The 25 Way NE Albuquerque, NM on July 19,2022. Had issues as soon as I walked into the hotel. I was there for a medical appointment and my insurance had booked and prepaid my stay through a third party. Upon check in the front desk agent tried to run the third parties credit card for room & tax and my credit card was to be authorized for a $50 refundable incidentals hold. Well third party card was declining, not sure why. Usually this happens because the front desk agent is trying to authorize for room, tax & incidentals. Third party cards are only to be auth for room & tax. After contacting my insurance company they reissued a new card and front desk was asked to try to authorize again. At this point the agent stated it went through. 30 mins later I was given a key to my room on the 4th floor. Waited for the world slowest elevator to take arrive and take me up with ny luggage. When I arrived at my room door, I was not able to get in. I kept getting a yellow light. So here I go again back to the front desk. I was switched to a different room, one on the 5th floor. When I got into the room it had a strong mildew smell. I tried to see if I could with stand and stay in room, maybe open a window, but they were sealed shut. I called front desk and explained my dilemma. I was offered another room on the same floor. The manager escorted me to the next room which had not been cleaned yet. So he offered me a complementary up grade to a king suite on the 4th floor. This room was awesome and I was content. Fast-forward to checkout. I left and later found out that my personal debit card had been charged for room & tax. When I saw a $230.91 charge on my card I called and asked for correction to be made and have correct credit card charged, the third parties card. I was assured that the issue would be addressed. That my card would be refunded and that a manager would call. Well none of the latter has occurred.
I was not going to do a review especially since they tried their best to rectify the issue that occurred at check in. All staff members were super friendly, professional, and room I stayed in was immaculately clean. but after my money was misappropriated and a manager never contacted as promised, I now have a bitter taste in my mouth. So this is why I rated this hotel as POOR. My money is now tied up and I know have to start a process with my bank to dispute the changes. Who knows how long this will take. Very sad and dissatisfied after all the trouble they went to make me happy to only have it...
Read moreStayed here for an overnight as I traveled interstate. Parked my car in the lot and immediately knew A) there's crime in this parking lot and B) I shouldn't have stayed anywhere in Albuquerque. Be warned - after 11pm, I witnessed several individuals in the back lot, clearly organized and texting each other from different sides of the building as if to communicate good vehicles to target. (Read the rest below...)
This may not be the fault of the hotel, but to have ONE security vehicle making rounds isn't doing anything to deter this. I couldn't sleep, watched my vehicle (I couldn't possibly bring all my belongings inside) and just had a terrible experience. Called police to patrol (there is an option on the Albuquerque police line for this exact purpose), but they never showed. Reported to the hotel desk as well. Nothing significant was done. Slept 5 hours of unease.
For the casual traveler without many belongings, maybe not a huge deal, but for others, DO NOT STAY here or in the city at all. Not safe.
Very few staff. Not sure how they can run the hotel with what seemed like 4 total employees (yeah it's probably more, but I saw 1 desk person, 1 housekeeper, 1 maintenance person and 1 person handling breakfast). Less staff, less service, same prices. I don't get it.
Hotel itself is dated. Breakfast was very blah, flavorless and the eggs were very salty. Coffee was decent. Workout room was basic, as expected, but cardio machines did not operate correctly and one would not turn off without pulling the emergency cord. Bed was comfortable, but the decor looks like they put in up on 2005 and never changed it. Very drab. Carpet seemed dirty, even though it's hard to tell since it's dark.
In contrast, I stayed at a Fairfield Inn (in another state) which was was comfortable, safe, and the decor was very nice and up-to-date. Won't be staying with Drury anymore. I used to be a guest several times a year, but this was a...
Read moreWe were here June 30th to July 2nd. The room was pretty decent, but somewhat smaller than we expected. The bathroom was ok. When you walked in, the toilet was at an angle and very close to the door. You had to carefully walk in and turn around to try and close the door. You had to push very hard to try to close the door to get the door latch to work. The sink was clogged and the water very slowly drained out. It was almost to the point of filling up to the top. The counter space around the sink was almost nonexistent. It was so small there was nearly no space for your own personal stuff. It was nice to have free breakfast and dinner as part of the package. Sadly, the first morning the pancake batter dispenser was broken and when I brought it to a workers attention, she didn't seem to care and just said she would take a look at it when she has time and just walked off. Several minutes later, she came out to take a look at it, messed with it for a little while and then took it back to the kitchen. A while late she brought it out fixed. By then, I was done with breakfast and didn't get to use it. Later on that afternoon, I saw a woman finishing making fresh popcorn and it smelled great. I asked a lady at the front desk when we could have some. She said we would have to wait at least 30 minutes so that the oil could cool down so we would not burn ourselves? That was BS, it does not take 30 minutes to cool down. She probably had some other reason that she didn't want us to try to enjoy our stay there. Overall, some of the staff was very friendly, just not everyone like it should be. The hotels location was very good and convenient. The only drawback was because it was close to the freeway, you could hear cars racing when you are trying to sleep. Regardless of all of the negatives, we would...
