new mexico is so underrated for her beauty. this peaceful little place is located a little east of willard, new mexico. it is also known as the “salt lakes of estancia valley.” #tiktokgostay #newmexico #saltlakes #travellingnewmexico #nm

My recent stay at this Holiday Inn was an incredibly disappointing and expensive experience. For a price of $150 a night, I expected a basic level of professionalism and comfort, but this hotel failed on almost every front. The issues began at check-in. The front desk staff was unprofessional; a young man with headphones on was sitting on the counter while attempting to check me in. This lack of attention set the tone for the rest of my stay. The area surrounding the hotel felt sketchy and unsafe, and the entrance itself was strange and uninviting. The problems continued inside. The elevator was absolutely terrifying—it jolted and shook violently, making me feel like it would drop at any second, much like the scary ride at Disneyland. Once in my room, I was hit with a terrible smell of cheap men’s cologne and body odor. The room was poorly maintained, with duct tape holding things together on the walls, the elevator, and even on signs. The room number was written in Sharpie, replacing missing numbers, which looked cheap and unprofessional. To top it all off, the room lacked basic amenities. We were given an insufficient number of towels for the tiny bathroom, and the body wash dispenser was completely empty. The TV remote was also broken, and the room was filled with scary-looking doors. The absence of a complimentary breakfast, a non-functional pool slide, and the high price all contributed to the abysmal experience. This was, without a doubt, the worst and most expensive hotel experience I have ever had.

This large hotel is easy to get to from the highway but the parking lot is small and not suitable for trailers. Very clean and updated, but you can see some of the wear and tear on the walls. The rooms are not well-lit. The pool is open all the time, but the slide is not. Check with the front desk on slide days. We enjoyed our stay and the staff was great. Definitely make a stop by the bar in the afternoon.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would! My husband and I have been IHG members for years! Predominantly staying at Holiday Inn, we have NEVER HAD ISSUES OR COMPLAINTS. I chose this location as it was close to some appointments I had. During my stay, I ended up horribly sick. My husband, out of state at the time, had called a couple of people to come and do a welfare check on me (as well alerting the front desk that others were coming to check on me). They brought me food and clothes (friends). I kept feeling more and more sick. To the point that my husband extended my stay because I would barely get up. My husband realizes the severity of my situation and calls an ambulance. He relays this information to the front desk to let them know something is terribly wrong. I had gone into septic shock while staying at this location. I was on deaths door and spent over 10 days in the ICU! Im very lucky to be alive. If it hadn't been for my husband contacting local friends to ensure my welfare, I would not be here today. Even with documentation from the hospital (indicating septic shock), the GENERAL MANAGER MICHELLE banned my husband and I. She made prejudiced judegements of the individuals who came to do welfare checks on me during my stay. Followed by slandering my name and reputation by stating that I was having a party and drug overdosed. To the point of telling my husband (when he rushed into town thinking his wife was about to die in a hospital) that I must have LIED to him about my condition. She then lied about the state of the room, as she was unaware my husband stayed the night (evening I was taken by the ambulance/ after he flew in). He video taped the condition of the room and explained that medical supplies were from the ambulance team trying to save my life in the room. Her (general manager Michelle) still insisting it was a party and drug overdose. Im an active military member, and my husband is 30 years retired military. I am extremely appalled at the prejudice of this general manager towards the individuals who did a welfare check on me and her lack of professionalism in regards to handling this particular situation. To the degree of making wild accusations and slandering my name to my husband! Thank God I have proof of everything! Documentation to even confirm the condition I was in FROM THE HOSPITAL. Since I survived, I will be pushing every avenue to ensure this is rectified.

Having a general manager such as this one is a complete shame. Especially for a company that my husband and I have used for years! Never have I ever experienced such unprofessionalism and prejudicial attitude

I did contact corporate: I heard her response to our report. In which she lied a couple times to paint a picture that makes her look unaware and unknowing. Fortunately, I have all phone records to prove that my husband made numerous calls. As well as when he walked out on Michelle because she refused to apologize for the wild accusations she made. Party/ drug overdose/trashed room. All lies! All documented! I have proof of everything! MICHELLE, I want a direct apology. I also feel you could use more training when it comes to customer service/care and your demeanor. After reading numerous reviews about your attitude and our personal experience, I feel you need to re-evaluate how you...

We recently went up to Albuquerque for my sons neurologist appt with UNM and school shopping. We stayed in this hotel three nights. The biggest thing I liked is that they offered Medical stay hotel accommodations and rates which helped tremendously. The hotel overall is very nice, clean, the front desk staff, bistro staff, and cleaning crew were very pleasant. The hotel has a bistro with freshly cooked breakfast and is so delicious. The red chili was incredible by the way. The interstate is close, and there's a lot of traffic through the night that could get loud so if you need a very quiet hotel this probably isn't the place for you but we were able to tune it out. The pool and the hot tub were amazing! Very clean!!!

I only had one issue. There is a "restaurant" that serves dinner but it is also located in the bar area. When we arrived on Saturday night, it was late, and my husband along with my 6 year old walked over to the "restaurant" to ask for a paper menu and find out times they were open, and the female bar tender yelled at my husband and demanded that he get my son out of the bar area. Incredibly rudely. He wasn't planning on staying in there because we got in late as it was. Our final night, we went in there because my son got hungry and the bar tender was very nice, and even spoke to my son very kindly. We ended up ordering some French fries with no issues and went back to our room to eat them out of the bar area. It was unfortunate because we would have liked to have dinner within the hotel for our stay, but we ended up going to dinner elsewhere all three nights with the excretion of the late snack because of the way we were treated the first night. Thankfully the female bar tender was nice on the final night. If you have small children, don't expect to be treated kindly by certain bar tenders even though they are a "restaurant/bar."

Will we stay at this hotel again?...

The hotel was dirty and the evening attendant was unfriendly. As I was checking out of the hotel I misplaced my ear buds and was looking for it and I pulled the sheets off my bed. I found a candy stuck to the mattress cover. Lord knows how long that has been there. The floor was very dirty and room service was never offered. I check in on 06/26/23 and checked out on 06/30/23. The towels I received had holes and were old. As I was checking out I told the morning desk clerk about the candy and dirty floor and even showed bu her only response was "oh no." She was not bothered or phased by it. My other encounter was when I went to ask for a wrist band for my son (for the pool slide) who was staying with me and I was told that was the only band I would get. That was all the explanation I got. He failed to mention that we had to keep that wristband throughout my entire stay. That was four nights! When I went back down to take my son swimming the next day I was told we could not get another band because they only issue one. He should have explained better and he said "if you like you can take it back out of the trash and retape it." That was just beyond rude! I will say that the lady at the bar was very nice and sweet. The was the only positive outcome of this stay. This hotel needs a thorough cleaning to the floors in the rooms and hallways. I also asked for the breakfast tickets and I was told that they no longer offer breakfast to anyone booking on government rates yet two of my colleagues who were staying and the same hotel and using the government rate received breakfast coupons their entire stay for our training we were attending in Albq. I have stayed at other Holiday Inn hotels but this was by far the worse...
