Major revision from my original 4-star review.
This place got me and my wife so sick the other day. We got the usual Orange Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken Lunch specials, but we felt terrible afterwards. Not sure if it was just old ingredients, because the food was prepared fresh.
Also, (and perhaps some might disagree with me on this) but their post-Covid-19 precautions are WAY outta hand! Their entire front counter where you order food is wrapped in a plastic (like the thick plastic you'd put down when you paint something), as well as makeshift plexiglass taped for the window to order (which is also a makeshift doggie-door to pass out the food).
There are a few dozen poorly hand-writing signs warning Customers not to touch anything, stand 6-feet apart* (*although it's frankly impossible in their tiny location), to wear a mask or "please, please, please leave".
This should have been a good indicator to leave because all of their furniture is still shoved and stacked in a corner collecting dust (why not just take it out of the lobby entirely if you don't want anyone sitting), and the floors and wall are not exactly spic 'n span. The inconsistency of wanting to keep themselves "safe", but not provide a clean lobby is just silly.
Also, because of their makeshift coverings you cannot see the kitchen like you normally would. What are they doing back there? Who knows! You can't see! So I take part of the blame for still sticking around to take the food home, but it was not excellent.
And to add insult to injury, the teenage girl taking the orders (who is the same one from previous visits) is still kinda sassy and very much "over it" as far as being there and showing any type of courtesy.
I'm very disappointed China Casa. This was a nice little hole-in-the-wall place that we'd recommend all the time, but cannot say we'd do in the near (or...
Read morePretty good for the area. Best I found so far. There are many places we have tried that we would never go back to. The crab rangoons are really flavorful. A little over priced but good. We tried the dinner for two and added soup and rangoons. The general tsos chicken was pretty good the flavor is great. The sweet and sour chicken was crispy and not over cooked it was very tasty. The wonton soup is okay I felt like the broth was lacking still it was flavorful enough and the dumplings were tasty what you would expect. Egg drop soup eas exactly what you would expect not anything fancy or special. I was disapointed with the roast pork fried rice. It actually turned out to just ve plain fried rice I dunno if that's on purpose or a mistake. There were hardly any vegtables and there was zero pork in it. very plain but still tasted good. The egg rolls are plain cabbage egg rolls nothing special but fresh and tasty. The best part about this meal was that it was all very fresh. If any part of this meal had not been fresh it would have negatively impacted this food greatly as its not phenomenal. Like I said it's the best we have found in this area and good enough for...
Read moreFirst time here, walked in, clean atmosphere. I ordered to go, The Bone- In Spare Ribs. I am an East Coast, New York native and the sauce they used on these was the same taste as on the East Coast. This is one of the only Chinese restaurants I have found with Bone- In Spare ribs too! I ordered right away when I saw them on the menu! I get mine well done and you can’t beat these. I will definitely be back! Walked in after 7 pm on a Friday night and place was hopping so I knew it would be delicious! Took about 10 minutes total and I ordered in person. Fast and delicious. They also had Duck Sauce and Hot Mustard! Two sauces hard to find in New Mexico. The meal came with fried rice and egg roll, and I added shrimp to the rice and it was delicious. The eggroll was also the same consistency as on the east coast. Thicker eggrolls. this was the combo meal, good portion size. They also sell large entrée of spare ribs. Quality food, for good prices if you want to wat good and...
