The Caramel Apples are amazing. The chocolate covered strawberries are amazing. Your boss will love an assorted box of chocolates for Christmas. Do this and you will get that big promotion.
I wrote this review several months ago, and I still stand by the five stars I gave the first time I reviewed the establishment. It is a five star business with five star products and five star employees - consistently, and I have enjoyed that same experience with every return visit.
I have seen several reviews that remark upon the service or the interaction between an employee and the reviewer. On more than one occasion the review makes a complaint regarding the way they are treated or the manners displayed by an employee. I have such a hard time relating to those particular comments. Not once have I been treated poorly or with any measure of disrespect - not a single employee has given me anything but pleasantries, efficiency, and genuine attentiveness. Perhaps there was one bad caramel apple in the bunch? Perhaps one of the employees was responsible for the poor experience that several reviews express, but it was unique to that particular worker? I don't know, its difficult to pinpoint the exact reason for those negative reviews and low star ratings.
I implore you to go and see for yourself if those reviews are accurate or not. I would not let those few reviews affect your choice to go or not to go, to eat chocolate or not to eat chocolate. I beg of you to take into account the majority of positive reviews, and disregard those who had the unique experience that, in their own words, is related to what sounds to be a single employee and not at all a review of the delicious chocolate available.
Obviously you will do what feels right in your heart. Obviously you will allow only so much to influence your personal opinion of the business prior to experiencing it for yourself. You are a smart and talented individual. You are your own person and you have a wealth of experiences to draw from when making decisions. You are loved and you are made of love and you are a conduit for the transfer of love from one individual to another. You are beauty. You are impossible and never...
Read moreOn July 27th I placed a preorder for the viral Dubai chocolate bar. Today, July 30th I received a call, text and email saying my preorder was ready for pickup. Went to get my order and was handed a rather small bag. Got in my car and opened the bag to find a small package with two mini Dubai chocolate bars in it. I was highly disappointed because the product I received wasn’t the one that was advertised on Instagram and on their website. As you can see in the pictures on their social media and website, the bar appears to be a decent size. Meanwhile the bar I got was two mini bars that fit into my hand.
I go to their Facebook page to express my disappointment in the comment section of their post and they deleted my comments, and even blocked me from their Facebook page. What an unprofessional way to handle business. Please stop with the false advertisement! Put the correct pictures of your product on your website and social media! Don’t waste $20 + tax on their chocolate bars, support a different small business instead.
Edit: I emailed the email that the owner provided to me but never received any response back. Seems as if I wasn’t the only one who had complaints of the size of the Dubai chocolate bar, because now they have made the Dubai chocolate bar bigger. I’m glad to see the size finally reflects the price. Since this incident I haven’t supported the business, I will continue to support other local...
Read moreEver since ChocolateDude opened, it has been my favorite place for everything chocolate! From morning stops for coffee, stops after date nights, or even drop ins to pick up some gifts for coworkers, friends, and family, the quality has always been consistent and delicious! The staff are friendly and clearly dedicated and passionate about what they do.
The shop, employees, and owner are also very clearly invested in the community of Nob Hill and Albuquerque as a whole. They always provide ample donations to charity events and actively participate in Nob Hill clean up days. Kurt even sits on the board of Nob Hill Main Street!
I might be a bit bias (given that Kurt is my uncle) but this place is amazing! I always make a point to take out of state guests from college here and I'm proud to tell people I know that I'm related to such a wonderful business owner in New Mexico.
As for the products, I recommend the apple pie caramel apple, a caramel apple rolled in sugar (Sam makes them upon request for me), dark chocolate sea salt caramel, chocolate covered strawberries,...
