Shamelessly a regular here, and the staff is 99% of it. The other 1% is the setting, the local food vendors, and the fantastic music and cocktails.
Savannah: the first bartender I met here! Savannah is a coooool personality, stoic and sweet where those things truly count. I’ve seen them navigate conflict and rude customers (often, unfortunately!) both with a stoicism and groundedness that’s really important on a crew.
Rosa: steadfast and warm, always works under high pressure with lots of efficiency and will always ask you what book you’re reading
Kelly: sweetie pie of the crew, I think! Truly a nice guy, consistently pleasant and always welcomes folks in with a big smile.
Johnathan: although he’s newer on the staff, he’s been such a wonderful addition to the space and is extremely community-oriented and thoughtful about how to continuously maintain Differential’s reputation of being a truly safe space.
Mason: great guy! seen him cleanup some late-night puke on the bar without complaint, truly a feat. fantastic playlists and always says hello to guests while he makes his barbacking rounds.
Would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a chill spot to read and drink some coffee/tea or one of their many n/a or alcoholic bevs. Great nightcap spot as well, especially as it warms up. Be sure to check them out and tip these guys nice...

The brew master and an employee of Differential were unwarrantedly rude to me when I came in with a small group of friends from in and out of town. We walked in and before we’re even greeted they immediately started throwing hand signals that they wanted our IDs. No problem. We try to show them our IDs but there are people in front of us. My bf is standing behind me, behind a bar stool, and I’m behind someone else. He lightly tosses his ID to the bartender. She becomes extremely upset this. Mind you she is the one giving hand signals and rudely asking for IDs from the second we walked in, a good ten feet away from the bar. She starts talking to her co-worker about how rude we are. At this point we are all very confused. We continue on ordering, paying, and tipping before the brew master makes a comment of “how about you don’t throw your ID’s at people.” We weren’t helped the rest of the night and when we walked in to use the restroom the employees were still talking about it. It was embarrassing bringing out of town friends here and telling them how “chill” this brewery is for it to be the very opposite. Living in Albuquerque my whole life I can tell you there are a lot better places in this city of awesome owners...
Read moreUse to love this place, very bike friendly. Lock them up front or wheel around back and keep an eye on them with locked one way gates. Blue corn beer is great, just had a blonde- ginger ale that was even better. Unfortunately they don't care for woman's safety. No designated bathrooms! Seen a young woman walk into what use to be the men's room, still with urinals and one stall. Men using the urinal, no main door lock, and a stall that you can plainly see through the finger wide cracks. The look of confusion as she Immediately went to the other bathroom instead. Disgusting, lost my business for life. We should prioritize safety for women. And if you want to use whatever one, nobody is stopping you, please do you. But to take away everyone's privacy forever is wrong. Think about woman's rights to feel safe and not have creepy men around in both of our most vulnerable states. At the least, put locks on the main door so women can feel safe, alone without the chance of a man using the urinal or looking though the cracks...
