I had the pleasure of dining at this unique venue last night for dinner. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but was treated to a wonderful dinner at a family style table with new friends. The menu created by Chef David Swan was pumpkin 5 ways. The Fried Tesuque pumpkin ravioli drizzled in brown butter was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside with lovely texture and flavor. The roasted pumpkin salad was a refreshing mixture of fresh greens and apple with pomegranate vinaigrette and accented with thinly sliced fried pumpkin. A great palate cleanser for the third course, pumpkin green chile stew served with a flour tortilla. Best to leave the tortilla in the stew as this packed a punch with a high chile heat index while allowing the unique flavors to come through. The main course, grilled pumpkin lasagne with fried leeks and housemade mozzarella, was an unexpected but delicious take on classic lasagna. The finale was pumpkin mousse with toasted marshmallows, graham cracker and candied pepitas. The combination of these flavors was at once both elegant and rustic in the way it awakened sophisticated tastebuds while reminiscent of wonderful camping memories. Ah, yes. The family feeling was very present at our table with our new friends and the wonderful conversations we had about local art, New Mexico history and the importance of being part of a community. All in the setting of delicious food! If you are ready for a different and very warm dining experience, I highly recommend this culinary adventure with Chef David and his wife Jesse. You will feel...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had some time this morning while in the area to drop by and check out this new place. I love the vibe. There are several spots to sit and hang out while not being in the way since the entrance has a large open area for people to be able to order and then wait for their food.
I tried the Chicano, which is supposed to be a twist on a Cubano, but I've never had a Cubano anywhere delicious as this sandwich. The warm melty cheese saturating all of the delicious crispy meat in between perfectly crunchy pieces of amazing bread with a nice amount of spicy deliciousness impressed me. It's not hard to find great sandwiches in Albuquerque, but I'm definitely going to make time to come back and try the other offerings on the menu.
I had potato salad on the side and was also impressed with it, mostly because I actually liked it and I'm normally not a fan of potato salad. It is a little lighter on the sauce than most, which is nice, but also has great flavors, which is what saved it.
The apple ginger herb tea that I tried is refreshing and tasty without being overly sweet. It was a perfect way to finish off the meal.
There are a bunch of private parking lots nearby, making it seem difficult to park, but fortunately Silver Ave has metered parking with a bunch of empty spots to use while getting lunch, so it was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe male cook saw me walk in and did not come to the counter until i rang the bell after 2 minutes. However after reading the reviews i had to try this place out.
The cook came up to the counter as if inconvenienced him and i said i would like to get sausage Christmas style breakfast burrito.
He said he only adds brisket and Carne asada. He then says if i want sausage or bacon like everybody else, then i can go across the street. He said his shop is different than everyone else and for me not to be afraid of something different.
I told him Iāll go across the street and take my business there.
His service that he provided was very rude, impolite, and zero care in the world. This place looks great however this is the worse service in all of Albuquerque with zero professionalism and zero customer service support.
In addition his attire, face, and hands was dirty, and his appearance is...
