I leave my original review below. In the two years that we have been coming, about monthly, here, the food was always 5 star. However, the pizza dough recently has been overworked and greasy fried by too much oil on the bottom so that It is hard to chew. Not good.
On a bright note though, their wings are very tasty. Service remains very friendly too. However, she forgot what I had explained about an onion intolerance. Our first wing batch was covered in chives (onion). They did remake them for us. Management was notified about the terrible dough but was too busy to properly listen.
Thursday night dinner of a one topping cheese in crust pizza with 5 wings and one coke and one water was about $30 Original Post* Totally Amazing! Food! Service! Quality! This is restaurant pizza at its finest! Try the stuffed crust! Try it with green chili! Try it with a nice cold beer!
This was our first visit and they check off every box. Outdoor seating available, beautifully shaded, and indoor seating as well. Today's music playing was Cuban salsa, loved it, but they will change the music to suit the customers. I can see groups here, families here or couples like us. We WILL be going again and bringing friends.
Many in this area have been waiting for quality food at a reasonable price that you can have a drink with too. The selections are varied from local brews to margaritas to coke fountain drink refills. I tried the pale ale: smooth.
Because their crust is made fresh, not frozen, the delicious yeasty crust on pizza and cheese sticks is like knife and fork good even though you are eating with your hands. Ingredients are fresh and quality and they don't scrimp on the cheese either. Their salads are equally freshly prepared and everything can be customized to specific likes or dislikes. Freshly shredded mozzarella on salad...oh yes!
And take some food home with you so you'll have room for cheesecake. It is the real deal. Thick, creamy, rich, baked cheesecake (not little skinny slices of confectioners sugar stuff). Everything will feed more people than you expect so bring a friend... or two.
And...get this...every single staff member there during lunch was friendly, helpful, answered questions, SMILED, and made us feel welcome. With fewer customers today, they all eventually came by to say hello, including the cook who said, "I made it with love". We would say that she...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the best pizza within a 200 mile radius hands down! I came with a few friends and we all absolutely loved everything! We first ordered the bread sticks and they were scrumptious! They were crispy, cheesy, and had a great flavor. Next we ordered the full Caesar salad and that was equally delicious, fresh salad, not wilted, the dressing was amazing in flavor and even the egg was perfectly cooked. Then we ordered a 12' deep dish pizza with half and half toppings, 1st half was pepperoni and green chile which had a green flavor and a nice bite, 2nd half with ground beef (and these were actual good size pieces of high quality beef not miniscule crumbs like most places put on), fresh spinach leaves, black olives, and pepperoni. The crust was crispy, buttery, and not greasy at all, it was perfectly cooked all the way through there was no doughy bite in the center of, it was just overall the best pizza I have personally ever had. Their portion sizes are huge and their prices are unbeatable I have never had a pizza place charge such a low price with high quality ingredients the way these guys do. The manager Joe was so nice and welcoming, not overbearing, he has new Mexican class and style, the waiter was equally friendly, warm, and welcoming. The restaurant was cozy, inviting, and unique. They were both very good with their customer service, they were very attentive to all of the details in each experience, you could tell they carefully craft each customer's order and make sure that it meets the desire of the customers every single time. You would be an absolute fool not to come to this business and try their unbelievable food! We will definitely be coming back again as soon...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLate delivery, cold pizza. We visited Albuquerque for just the weekend. We wanted some late-night food, and our Airbnb host recommended this place. Using Gold Street's own website (not Uber Eats or anything), we place a delivery order. The delivery time came and went; 15 minutes past the supposed arrival time, I called the restaurant and they said a driver had picked up the order and it should be delivered soon.
About 5 minutes later we got our pizza, 20 min. late. The pizza was cold and had obviously been sitting out too long at the restaurant or in the delivery driver's car. Wish we could get our money back for the delivery fee because if we had expected such poor service we could've driven and picked up the pizza ourselves. Will not be ordering delivery from this place again if we're back in the area. Dine-in seems to be a better experience, though, so that's something we could consider.
Edit, 9/27: Thanks to the owner for responding; however, we don't know when we'll be back in ABQ (likely a year+), so we'd have to hope one of those two people are even there. Again, not exactly the customer service...
