Juani's Kitchen — Restaurant in Albuquerque

RIGHT OFF THE BAT THE WAITRESS SAID THEY(SHE) DONT CARE ABOUT NEGATIVE REVIEWS BUT HERE GOES: I went in for a friday night dinner with my 10 yr old daughter after work. I ordered a green chile stew and it was just a reheated mess that tasted disgusting. So i put it to the side and waited on my tacos. When i got them, they were cold. the tortillas they were in were cold. the beans were nasty looking and not fresh and delicious. they looked reheated from a can. just not very appetizing looking.

Naturally i asked to speak to the waitress and politely told her the stew was gross and tasted old. She shot back that it was freshly made that morning(yeah right, im no gordon ramsey but i can tell when something has been reheated after sitting in a fridge cold). it was mushy and not appetizing at all. She then proceeded to tell me that i was probably drunk (i dont drink) and didnt know what i was talking about all this in a very rude disrespectful tone in front of my daughter. i honestly thought for a second she was going to throw something at us, it was that crazy. I tried asking if she could just make me a fresh set of tacos to which she replied by trying to kick me out. I told her i wanted a full refund. She was screaming at the top of her lungs that they cook everything fresh(they didnt that time) and she would refund me but not the drinks haha. maybe she was having a bad day, i dont really know but it made my daughter and i and other customers feel weird. my daughter just wanted some tacos and we ended up at los cuates down the street where we happily spent the $55 i was supposed to spend at Juanis . if i was the owner, i would want to know about this. I have the receipt if there...

I have been to Juani's several times when the gentleman and older lady are working and have had no issues and the food has been good. Today I went in and received service from who I believe is the daughter and she was extremely rude and unprofessional. When we got there there was no one to be found after 4 mins we rang the bell. We were made to order at the counter instead of our table and were not offered chips and salsa even though a table that came in later was. My friend asked for water and she told her that there were no bottled waters so they didn't have any. Every time I have gone prior to this I have been given a glass of water. There was also a pitcher on the counter with water in it which makes me believe she just didn't want to be bothered. When I told her we usually get a glass she shrugged it off and said they didn't have bottled so there was no water so I was forced to pay $5 for a drink. When I ordered my food I asked for scrambled eggs instead of fried and she rolled her eyes at me and said this comes with fried eggs I told her that I knew it did and I don't like fried so I would like scrambled. When we got our food our orders where wrong my fried received bacon even though she asked for no meat and I got no bacon. My plate was also significantly smaller than the plates of my two friends. The food was good but the server is not personable and is very rude she should only be allowed to work in the back of the house of they want to...

The guy in the kitchen was pretty rude. I tried phoning in an order a few time with no one picking up, so I drove 20min to place my order in person. I walk in and he asks if I’m picking up which I told him I’d like to place an order to go. His response was “ it’ll be a while, there’s nothing I can do”. I stood there waited a bit and just walked out.

I understand being by yourself and being overwhelmed, but don’t be a jerk.

response to the owner* 8 out of 35 of my reviews over the span of 4 years are one stars, so NO I don’t leave 1 stars often. I’m sorry to hear about your day, but my perception of the way life works is not out of touch and based off of a service standpoint that is what I rated the restaurant. I understand being overwhelmed, but snapping at me when I was just walking in did not resonate well with me. If it was going to take a while, should’ve just told me to take a seat because you’re by yourself and I would have waited. Or you could’ve given me an alternative and said to just place my order online to make it easier for you, since you were prepping orders for the online...
