I was Banned from Rusty Taco Even though I worked there. They fired me over something giving me 1 bad review. However I hadn’t seen this review with my own eyes but only that they told me. Some Customers may have known me by my nick name - Dae. A lot of Customers Favored me. Clearly none of the employees wear name times but forced to wear hats or hairnets. However I have suffered discrimination a lot from this work place. I even stayed working longer than intended to, clearly I was wrong. I have been racial discriminated in this work environment by the actions from previous employers and I feel cause I am a hard working “Black woman “ not only that but a lot of customers recognized me and I even got offered job offers on the spot, while working. I was working for Rusty Taco for 3 months maybe more. I constantly talk to my general manager mainly about feeling bullied and treated differently. He told me things would change or that he would fix it. Little did I know I would be fire later on without even a liable reason as to why. My cashier drawer ended up being short one night and I worked two double shifts. I wasn’t feeling to well and I let my general manager know my drawer needed to be checked cause I felt I had messed up on my drawer. He told me he would look in on it. He never did, nor did they ever change out my drawer for at least the next shift. So it could have been resolved then. That night I had to approach my night manager about my drawer and if it was short or not.. keep in mind he was not going to even tell me that my drawer was $40.00 short. He told me “he would figure something out” little did I know he was quit a few days later. I had a write up waiting for me cause my drawer was $40 short. To remind everyone my drawer has always been on point and maybe a few cents over even. To think I had to be on something called a 30-day probation period. Meaning my drawer needed to be right for 30+ days and which my drawer was obviously Good for the Additional 30 days. They allowed me to come in to work and tell me I’m now off the schedule cause of 1 bad review and had no evidence of proof. However did not follow up really about this 30-day probation and that my drawer was good. Which is was cause My general manager found something else to fire me for cause he knew my drawer was good for those additional 30-days. I paid for my ride to get to work almost every day and to be sent home and told I wouldn’t be on the schedule, following this whole incident was very disappointing and a waste of my time. I do not recommend any African American individual to work here. This place is full of lies and broken promises only to better the company. I was once told by General manger “ I’m not here to get make anyone like each other but to run the business” I disagree as a African American individual who was homeless and Barely new anything of New Mexico and still made it to work and never called in at all. Unlike some others who have called in and been late multiple times. They get a pat on the back but I get stared down like a slave. They also Blamed me for clogging up the toilet, just cause I happened to come out of the restroom and that’s not what it was at all. Well of course they blamed me.. like they accused me of stealing that $40 but the night manager could not let me know but had me approach him about it and O! He no longer works there either cause he quit all of a sudden. Huh what a experience at Rusty Taco as a employee and to know that the cash tips y’all are putting in that tip jar, we don’t know where that goes.. cause in the handbook it said cash tips would be split at the end of the shifts, that is not true and there is so much more.. y’all just don’t know. I also wanted to thank Rusty taco for making me so much stronger tho. I was called a lot of things by other employees that I feel I...
Read moreI don't write many reviews, but after having Rusty's tonight, I felt compelled to share my experience. Rusty's is not near my house, so it's a treat when I get to eat here. But, tonight, tonight was NOT a treat. I ordered a couple chicken tender kids meals and 4 tacos to go and took a seat at a table to wait. They were not very busy, a couple customers who ordered just ahead of me, and few who came in after me. As I waited, I watched customer after customer getting their orders, including all those that had came in after me. I continue to wait and finally the man who had been working the register brings me my order. "For Kate" he says. Well, my name is not Kate. I tell him my name and he goes to the counter where they make the tacos, checks some receipts, then heads to register, looks through some orders, and prints a receipt. He heads to where they make the tacos again, talks to the other guys there, and they start pulling ingredients (assuming to make my order). Not a single employee comes to my table to talk to me to explain anything about what may have happened. Nothing! So I wait, assuming they either didn't make my order or gave it to someone else. Did they offer to refund a portion of my order? Nope! Offer me a coupon for the next time I came in? Nope! Offer me some chips and queso, or even a fountain drink? Nope! Or at the very least, come to my table and apologize? Nope! One employee half-heartedly mumbled "sorry" on his way to get himself a fountain drink. As I continue to wait, a previous customer comes in, tosses "her" order on the counter, which promptly gets thrown in the trash. It's Kate! Finally, my order is up and I go to the counter to get it. The employee says "2 kids meals and 2 tacos", to which I slide my receipt across the counter and say "I ordered 4 tacos". Like, please tell me how you are going to mess up so badly the first time and not even ensure that you have it right the second time. They almost sent me off without my whole order. He gets my last 2 tacos wrapped up and brings them to me. At this point, I'm pissed. I grab my food and head for the door to which he says "have a nice day". I don't respond. I just wanted out of there. So he yells "have a nice day" a second time. Then we get home to eat. The food was subpar at best. Mine had hardly any baja sauce and there were pieces so hard that I thought I chipped my tooth when I bit into one. I am extremely disappointed, because previously I have really enjoyed Rusty's. I guess the C squad was...
Read moreFor the love of all things holy, don't order catering from here. You think it's a great idea because, hey, we love Rusty Taco, let's get it in bulk and feed a bunch of people! Don't do it. Let me tell you about the time we decided to have Rusty Taco cater our wedding. It was a small wedding and Rusty Taco was one of our favorite places, so we thought, why not? We met with Jennifer, who was nice, and got our order taken and event/time details. As the wedding date gets closer, I reach out to Jennifer to finalize details, and she tells us to come in at a certain time on a certain day to meet. So we do, and she's already left for the day. So we sit down with Ariel, who was also very nice and she tells us a bunch of great add-ons that Jennifer never once communicated about that would end up making the night so much easier (such as cups, ice, and hiring someone to have on hand to serve.) Kind of weird for Jennifer to not tell us about those things, but OK. So Ariel assures us that her number one guy is in charge of the order and it will be great. Cool. Our Wedding Coordinator calls the day before to solidify the order and the delivery time. All set. The day of the wedding they are no call no show. They showed up an hour after the agreed time with only half our order, and most of it already cold. They were so sorry because they just "got busy". If you have a catering order you've known about for three months, "being busy" isn't really an excuse. To try and make amends, they told us they'd take the food that was not delivered off our total as well as a percentage for the bad service. That ended up being a back and forth conversation as they weren't even sure what was delivered and what was forgotten. They also told us that we would be put on a "list" they have and whenever we come in we would get free food. First, if you have a list of failed catering mishaps, maybe don't offer catering? Second, we went in for lunch one day and mentioned the list, naturally the person had no idea what we were talking about and said he would have the manager, Ariel, call us (which they never did.) We were excited to share one of our favorite places with friends and family and instead it left all 80 of us very disappointed. Rusty Taco could have made amends by taking care of the situation in an organized manner in regards to the refund and the mysterious "list" but instead it's been further chaos of a...
