My lady and I went in for my birthday dinner. We are both reward members. I should have had a free piece of cheesecake for my birthday as part of the rewards program. We told the waiter named Zach that we were rewards members I would be having my free piece of cheesecake after our meal for my birthday. He got my phone number and we looked at the menu. After quite a while he came back and got our order. He recommended the four cheese pasta. Then it took forever for our food to come out. When it got there. Wow it was not good at all. He came around quite a while later ans zipped by while asking if we were ok. My food was terrible ans my ladies food was very dry. She had the chicken tenders. Just not good food at all ans small servings. Terrible service. I asked about my cheesecake ans Zach said he would Go check. He came back a few minutes later and said I didnāt get a free piece of cheesecake for my birthday. That I must have been mistaken ans not signed up in time. I explained I signed up for rewards in December ans my birthday was less than fourteen days ago in February so by the rules of the rewards program I was supposed to get a free piece of cheesecake for my birthday. He just said no sir you donāt get one. I asked why. He said that the rewards system was flawed and they were having problems with it and I would not be getting a piece of cheesecake for my birthday. I told him that didnāt seem right. He said thatās the way it is and walked off. He did not once offer to get a manager or check to make sure he put my number in correctly. Nothing. Just more or less said too bad. I wonāt be going back to the Cheesecake Factory ever again. This was my birthday dinner. Some of us work very hard to make the money we make for our family. I work construction 6-7 days a week ans own my own small remodeling and construction company. To have my birthday dinner ruined like this is unacceptable. I would not ever treat a customer like this. And on top of all of this. This is the third time we have gone to this location and had bad food and terrible service. I will not go back and spend my money there and I will be telling everyone I know about this and not to go there. Very disappointed that I picked that place to go eat at for my birthday. I ordered an appetizer but asked that it not hold up our entire order. During the ordering process, I told him I would have a to go order of large chicken thai wraps. 30 minutes later all the food came out. Some warm some cold. My to go order came out with the appetizer and main courses. When I asked why he said because we asked for all the food to come out. I explained I did not want the to go food sitting the entire time we were eating. The waiter was so rude. He snatched the bag from me and said, āit is just going to get thrown away.ā For the remainder of our meal, he ignored us, didnāt check on whether we were happy with the food, and didnāt refill any drinks. We finally stopped another waitress and got refills for our drinks and asked to see a manager. We explained the issue. The waiter Alberto finally returned to the table and dropped off the check. He never offered dessert or to go containers. 5 minutes later he came back with my to go order. When I checked the food, I was confident it was the same food he had brought me before. The chicken was room temperature as were all the vegetables and sauces. I have ordered this dish many times as my main meal so I am well aware of how it is prepared. There is no way it was done in 5 minutes from when he dropped of the check and brought it back to me. I also had to ask for a piece of cheesecake to go. He picked up the check and came back some time later with a new check and the cheesecake.
We waited 15 minutes more and no manager came by. On the way out, someone finally found a manager to listen to my complaint. He was very dismissive and when asked why no one came to our table, he said he was not sure. After listening he asked if I wanted a free piece of cheesecake and said he would look into it. Tonight, I called because my driver, according to the app, arrived and waited for over 15 minutes. I was put on hold... another 5 minutes.
I hung up and called back. I was informed "It's just really backed up. If you have a doordash issue, you have to call doordash."
My issue wasn't with doordash. It was with a restaurant that didn't even care enough to say, "let me check on this for you."
I got word a few minutes later that the driver had left the store and was on the way.
While I waited for my meal, I thought about all the times I have had amazing service from Cheesecake Factory, and how terrible service was this time. I mean, let's all be real. We arent paying those prices for chicken fetucinni alfredo because they unlocked the best combo of spices. It's because of the service.
So, I called again and asked for the manager. The mansger did nothing but argue. Everything I tried to say she jad an argument about.
Me: "My doordash driver had to wait for almost 30 minutes to get my order tonight and I...." Manager, cutting me off: "We haven't had anything that was behind all night! I know because I'm helping with those orders!" Me:"Ah, well the last person I spoke to said the exact opposite. That, isn't the reason for my..." Manager:"No one would have said that to you."
And on and on we went. I finally said, "Look, that isn't the reason why I asked to speak to you. I wanted to let you know that your staff is blowing me off completely. They didn't even ask what name the order was under or offer any assistance."
And then this manager showed that she is probably not the manager.
"You are so right. I will immediately get out there and make sure I train everyone better!" Then she hung up.
So, yeah. The service that made the prices worth paying seems to have evaporated. No service to comp the cost? No further...
