We used to love coming here a lot but after an incident with the owner we won’t be back. She tried to defend her business strategy of providing the customer with a half full glass of their seasonal juice. When my husband asked “why is our glass half full?”. He tried to calmly explain how it feels to be deceived as the customer to pay for a drink only to receive one half way empty. (I have to add that we ordered our food as takeout so the juice was in a plastic to go cup, meaning he never touched the drink or drank from it) He requested a refund and the owner said he cannot do that. She wouldn’t even hear him out and said, “I’m done” and walked away from him. I’m sorry but the only business strategy for not filling up our cup the entire way is just so you can cheat out your customer. The sad part is, the company is very prosperous and always busy and thriving so it hurts me that the owner has to do this to her customers and for what reason?
In response to the comment below: It’s completely out of character for my husband to act the way you described him. I was sitting next to him while he placed the order on the phone and he didn’t raise his voice once. He even politely said, “I’m sorry but I don’t understand” in response to the host telling him if he orders his drink without ice it will “ look even more pathetic ” this is not the first time we’ve ordered a juice to go and it was the exact same way (half way full) the first time around. My husband is one of the sweetest and most decent human beings I have ever met and I can’t believe you would try to convince me otherwise. But it does sound very characteristic of you to come up with a lie like that considering you also cheat people of their money by again, serving a half empty cup to the customer and blaming them for wanting a full cup, refusing to refund the product and then as a business owner, failing to communicate and deliver a service to the customer. All we did was point out the facts and you couldn’t handle the truth so what a better way than to accuse a man of being hateful towards women. Again, it is not wrong of him to question why he is paying for a half empty cup of juice. I highly recommend you order new sizes for your to go cups in a 9oz size so you don’t deceive the customer by serving 9oz in a 16oz cup. If you can’t do that, please consider taking the time to explain to everyone reading this, your so called “business strategy”.
Run far away from this place! A very unprofessional way to handle a situation that is not our fault. If you don’t believe me, go order a juice...
Read moreI went once before and was extremely pleased with the total service.
So, I made it a whim and treat to come again after work.
The main body of the floor plan was to accommodate 3 or 4 people at most tables. the primary crowd was couples and trios. The elbow room seemed to encourage more conversation and less head turning or wandering eyes. Walk ways had a wide enough flow for polite traffic.
The wait for seating was minimal (4 minutes) and efficient inspite of 4/5 tables being constantly occupied. From the host escort to the bill, most guests staying between 30-50 minutes. Few parties weren't particularly rushed, and stayed much longer. I stayed 49 minutes according to my ticket. as I left, most tables had rotated. I believe this efficiency is due to the cleaning staff who moved quickly and nearly unnoticed. Also, i tip my beanie to the host who was always in motion within 21 second loops. She was calm and ready to usher who ever was next. This gave me the impression that empty tables are there for everyone at any time.
It was also helps that the buzz and energy made it seem difficult or silly to monitor time. My nostalgia for family brunch after Sunday church murmured louder in my head. Even though I occupied a four seat booth by myself, I wasn't alone, crowded, or bothered. It was a delightful "so be it" and amen.
I was pleased to not see a portobello or typical dark button blah blah anywhere on the menu. Thank you.
The Hibiscus mule was tasty and refreshing. I appreciate the light hand late in the morning VS a fratty heavy hand I've experienced elsewhere. With families around on a week day, it was a safe choice. Could have done without the brand name on the copper mug. But, still worth it.
The food was exactly what I ordered. portions where not modest or gluttonous. It was 101% in size, price, and quality. All I added was the in house hot sauce on the grits. The salt and pepper shakers were just polite decorations. The rye toast was a necessity as i mopped up every dripping on the plate. Next time I'm taking the sauce home.
Clean restrooms with calming and upbeat music, I was surprised that there was no empty echo from the hard surfaces.
I don't know what else to say, I hope this helps and makes sense.
See y'all next month, next time I'll change out of my...
Read moreThe food is great however today we realized why it took us so long to come back.
There was no line which was great and we were seated immediately. Within 1 minute we were expected to order, I needed more time to read the menu so the waitress said she’d do a loop and come back. 45 seconds later she came back so we ordered. Our child asked for the waffles and a few minutes later the plate came out… cold eggs cold waffles. Her plate came out so fast I expected it to be hot but then again, it was too fast as in, I don’t think it was fresh. I finished my plate first, the waitress scooped my plate up while the other two members of my family were eating, she left the check and told us she could package our coffee to go. I said I’d like to finish my coffee. She came around and our child was wiggly but still had food on her plate, the waitress took her plate and then said “would you like me to put your coffee in a to go cup?” My spouse was still eating. The waitress came back 2 minutes later, while my husband was chewing she asked if he was done, he nodded yes and said later he felt rushed, she asked us again if we wanted our coffee to go. From parking to paying we were at the restaurant for 22 minutes. There were empty tables and no line. What I would love to share with the staff/owner is, if I am going to pay $60 for 2 adults and 1 child to eat breakfast. I don’t want you to rush me. Let us drink the whole pot of coffee. If we wanted a quick meal I’d go to McDonald’s and spend $20. What was supposed to be a Saturday morning treat with our family turned out to be an...
