I held off on leaving a review because I wanted to consider the experience and be fair. This was my first time coming to Texas Roadhouse, and probably my last.
The steak was great. My filet mignon was cooked to perfection. All the stars are for the food. I enjoyed the salad with blue cheese crumbles. The rolls were fabulous. My partner enjoyed their filet and ribs. The bar drinks were tasty too. The rattlesnake bites were bland, but maybe we got a bad batch?
The atmosphere was HORRIBLE. The floor was filthy. Super loud, people yelling, children crying. The music was terrible, but luckily we could barely hear it over the loud families. We’re trying to enjoy a date and every five minutes we hear an employee screech “Listen up Texas Roadhouse!!!! We got a very special guest in the house!!!! Can I get a Texas sized YEEHAW!!!!” It was cute the first time, but it happened eight more times during our meal. It got old quick. The dining experience of others should not be interrupted for someone else’s birthday, unless it’s a tasteful and quick happy birthday song followed by polite clapping. It’s a restaurant, not a Chuck E Cheese. This may have been the worst atmosphere of any restaurant I’ve ever been in.
The service wasn’t great. I’m a server and I’m pretty patient, but keeping drinks full is the bare minimum. Especially when you have food runners!! If someone else is bringing all the food, and your only job is to sell and keep drinks full, I shouldn’t sit thirsty.
The hostess was friendly. However, we were quoted a 15-25 minute wait. We waited over 50 minutes to be sat, and watched several parties who arrived AFTER us be seated before we were. Turns out, they were waiting for the smallest booth possible to be open to seat our two top. This irked me. If an appropriate seat is open and a party has been waiting, the waiting party should receive the open seat.
The steak was awesome. I really wish the service and atmosphere were as good...
Read moreWe tried this place out for the first time yesterday and we liked it but there is room for improvement. There were some minor things that took the rating down slightly but overall we enjoyed our experience. We got onto the online wait list, when we got there we still ended up having to wait a good 15 minutes because it was just so packed. They play the music over the speakers pretty loudly but that's a minor thing. I will admit I wasn't pleased with the crammed seating in the booths. However, our waiter was very attentive to us, the person who seated us gave us some fresh hot rolls with cinnamon butter which were delicious. We requested regular butter too, it was brought to us promptly. We both tried their flavored iced teas and they were really good. My son ordered the 8 oz Fort Worth steak with a ranch salad and steak fries. I ordered an 8 oz Ribeye steak with a Caesar salad and a loaded baked potato. They didn't have chives for the potato, our bucket on the table didn't have peanuts in it, I didn't even know what the bucket was for until I asked halfway into the meal and the server told me that it was supposed to have peanuts. Our salads were brought to us first, and we were both very impressed with the dressings as they are House-made as are the croutons. Then our meals arrived, we were asked to cut into our steaks to make sure that they were cooked to our liking, which they were. When we both first tasted the steak we fell in love with the wonderful flavor and the juiciness. My son said the steak fries were wonderful, the baked potato was a baked potato wasn't anything to rave about. I will note that for my 8 oz Ribeye steak I was given about 2 oz of fat instead of meat so that disappointed me considering the cost of the meal. Other than that it was good and we will go back sometime in the future to try it again. We were given a coupon for a free appetizer for when we return again, that is standard for all...
Read moreTitle: Disappointing Experience at Texas Roadhouse
As frequent patrons of Texas Roadhouse, my family and I have always cherished the delightful experiences we've had there. The ambiance, the food, and especially the exceptional service provided by the waitresses have consistently left us satisfied.
However, our recent visit left us feeling utterly disheartened. Given that we have three young children, we always opt for call-ahead seating to minimize the wait time. Tonight was no exception. The app indicated a wait time of an hour and ten minutes to an hour and twenty minutes, which we anticipated with understanding.
Upon arrival, though, our expectations were shattered. Instead of the mere thirty minutes we expected to wait, we were informed that we would have to endure another hour and ten minutes to two hours. This discrepancy was bewildering and frustrating, to say the least, especially considering our long journey from out of town.
Attempting to address the issue, I was met with dismissive responses from the manager, who seemed intent on gaslighting me into believing that I had somehow misinterpreted the quoted time. The unwillingness to acknowledge or rectify the situation only added to our dismay.
Ultimately, we were left with no choice but to seek dining elsewhere, much to the disappointment of our hungry children. It's regrettable that such a beloved establishment failed to uphold the standards of customer service that we have come to expect.
In conclusion, while Texas Roadhouse has consistently provided us with memorable dining experiences, our recent encounter was marred by miscommunication and unhelpful management. Proceed with caution, and always ensure to screenshot your quoted wait time to avoid similar...
