The Crepe Brulee: A Sweet Symphony in Albuquerque
If you thought Albuquerque couldn't get any sweeter, think again! The grand opening of The Crepe Brulee, the city's newest dessert emporium, was nothing short of a sugar-coated spectacle. The line started forming at 8 AM, and by the time we arrived at 3 PM, it was still snaking out the door. But let me tell you, the wait was worth every minute.
First up, the Salted Caramel Crunch. Imagine a custard so smooth it could moonlight as a jazz singer, topped with a brulee'd crust that cracks like the punchline of a good joke. The salted caramel added just the right amount of sass, making each bite a delightful dance of sweet and salty.
Then there was the Banana Biscoff Pudding. This wasn't just any pudding; it was a pudding with a PhD in deliciousness. The brulee'd custard on top was like a golden crown, and the Biscoff cookies added a crunch that could rival the best stand-up comedy routine. The banana flavor was so fresh, I half-expected to see a monkey swinging from the ceiling.
And let's not forget the pièce de résistance: the crepe. Fresh off the griddle, this crepe was filled with custard, topped with all the fixings, and finished with a brulee'd top that was so perfect, it could have been sculpted by Michelangelo himself. Each bite was a warm, gooey, crunchy masterpiece that left us all in a state of dessert-induced euphoria.
So, if you're in Albuquerque and have a sweet tooth that needs satisfying, head over to The Crepe Brulee. Just be prepared to wait in line – and trust me, it's a line worth...
Read moreThis is an excellent little crepe shop with a unique twist! I visited when it first opened, and it's great to see how much it's grown since then. The owner is a genuinely nice guy who is always welcoming and engages well with customers. The staff is just as friendly!
Now, let's talk about the food. They specialize in dessert crepes, which are filled with fruit, cookies, and similar treats. They are all topped with a rich custard (the crème) and optionally brûléed. Some menu items also come with ice cream. The crepes themselves are pretty solid, too.
The menu isn't extensive, which is a good thing—it allows them to focus on the quality of the items they serve. So far, they've also occasionally offered limited-time flavors. This strategy allows them to experiment with different tastes and see how each performs.

Read moreI was finally on this side of town to try this place. I came during the middle of the day and was the only patron inside. I was immediately greeted by a young lady who was warm and cheerful. She explained the menu went over any questions that I had. I ordered the crépe brûlèe gluten free without thr Graham crackers. I sat at one of the tables while I waited for it to be made. Everything was nice and clean inside and very well decorated. Once I received my crépe I waited the 10 seconds recommended by the staff member. After that I dug in. The crepe was light and fluffy and the homemade custard was delicious until the last bite. I don't know if there was any cross contamination but after maybe 10 minutes I immediately felt my face tingle and had a headache for pretty much the rest of the day. If you are gluten sensitive or have celiac disease you may want to verify if they have a designated stove for the gf crépes. All in all everything tasted great, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was...
