HotHeads Crawfish — Restaurant in Alexandria

We travel 4hrs from Houston to eat the Crawfish here. My wife and I use HotHeads as the bar for all of the other Crawfish we eat but sadly they all fall short. These Crawfish are all large and super flavorful, not over cooked and mushy like a lot of other establishments. The sides are also delicious. I just wish they could have a dining area at the location, but after speaking with the owner we found out that the local government makes this very expensive.

I haven't actually eaten here, but it must be good. I base this on the fact that this Crawfish place originally started as a temporary setup next to BJ's pizza - one of those seasonal places that pops up then disappears just as quickly. But, it's actually survived here for a while, and the building has gotten continually more "permanent" looking over time. I always see folks here, too, which is a good sign. This was my go to place when it first opened. However, I'm not sure what has changed but the taste is very different. The last few times I bought crawfish and crabs they had either a Tabasco taste or they were just bland. I'm all for support of local businesses and they are awesome people.
