I really respected the Kingstone location of this restaurant, but now my enjoyment of the restaurant has been tainted by the Old Town location.
I'm not expecting anything to be done, since the person who was rude to us was the manager/co-owner, but I need to share the experience we had at this restaurant to make others aware. Especially since the manager/co-owner even admitted that he was being rude, but clearly doesn't care as he can't be touched.
We were waiting for the bill, but our waiter and the manager were deep in conversation. So we got up and asked if they could prepare the bill for us. When the bill was prepared and our waiter was coming toward us, he was stopped again by the manager. The conversation grew longer, so we asked for the bill again. The manager than rolled his eyes and gestured toward us as though we were a bother before heading into the back.
We then asked to speak with him since we thought this experience was rude. When the manager returned, he admitted that he was being rude and that he had stopped the waiter on purpose. He didn't even have a reason why. He just said, "Training is more important than giving you your bill." And that we were "looking for a problem." Does that make any sense? Is there special training that needs to be followed just to hand someone a bill? Were we the rude ones for simply asking for the bill after waiting for so long? We've been to restaurants all around the world and have never been told we were the ones "looking...

I’d imagine that its location demands higher rent, which would explain the high cost and small portions. I went there for supper and got the Pad Thai beef—I found it a little sugary. I also got the green curry, which was fantastic, but again, the portion was really, really small, as was the large (in quotation marks) Tom Yum soup.
The positive was that they didn’t skimp on the meat in any of the dishes. I ate all of the above while at the restaurant. I expected to have leftovers for lunch today, but que sera, sera. I left with no leftovers and $50 lighter.
I probably will not return to this restaurant when I’m back in the area. I don’t feel I got good value for the dollar or phenomenal food for the dollar. If you’re really craving Thai food and it’s your only option because you’re staying down the road at a hotel, like I was, then it’s a...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised. i got drunken noodles with tofu and my fiancé got masaman curry. the noodles were perfectly cooked and had the right amount of spice. the vegetables were also fresh and flavorful. even the onions had great sweet flavor and texture. the tofu was light and crispy and the dish was just colorful and visually pleasing (I say this because I've been to places where everything seems like one big brown overcooked pile of mush) I only had a tiny taste of my fiancés masaman curry but it was also delicious. maybe a touch sweeter than I'm used to, but delicious none the less. and he enjoyed it thoroughly. for some perspective, we are from the food-mecca metropolitan area of New York, so we have become a bit spoiled by having so many high caliber options around us. usually when we travel out of the city, we lower our expectations quite a bit. but I must say Pasara was excellent! even better than some of the places we regularly...
