This is a long review...BUT A MUST READ! On my around-the -world food journey, we found this Mediterranean spot in Alexandria. We originally planned to go to a Greek bistro but it was closed (I must make mental note to check these places before I plan to go) but walked a few blocks and found the Pita House. I must say the service was top notch. Our server Abl gave us the best service ever (even better than chik fil A). I told him about me and my friend's food journey and he gave us appetizer (Combination Platter), entree (Mix Grill), and desert (Baklava) recommendations. They were all perfect 10s. The Combination Platter came with the juiciest salad I've ever had. It had a Lebanese seasoning and i think vinegar dressing (very very good). The hummus was good but ya'll it had Fava beans (Yes the ones from silence of the lamb). They were soooo good. The falafel was nice and crispy. If i didn't know it was a vegetarian dish, i would swear it had meat in it. It was also very tasty. For my entree I had The Mix Grill. It was a combination of lamb, chicken, and a sausage like item (I forget what he called it). I couldn't choose which one was best. The sausage had a lot of flavor but the chicken was moist and full of flavor too. The lamb was so tender I cut it with a butter knife. It came with rice and two sauces (a garlic and yogurt sauce-i search for a recipe at the table). I usually eat my rice with some type of gravy. But this rice didn't need any. It was flavorful just plain (how could that be)!! We finished up this meal with Baklava. I've had this before from Greek restaurants, but this one was different. The Greek versions I've had (although very good) is very sweet and rich. This version is just the right amount of sweet. Folks when I tell you this food was good...IT WAS GOOD. I am a novice when it comes to food. So I can't attest to how this food taste opposed to if you were in Lebanon, but I recommend this for anyone who likes food. Great food and service...what more could you ask for...good prices. My meal with taxes came to $36.

Disgusting service. I can’t say anything about the food, unfortunately, since my husband and I didn’t get to try it. We came here for dinner on a Saturday at 9.25pm. There was no staff who welcomes and seated at the tables, we ourselves went into the hall. while one waiter was talking to other guests and three more employees were standing near the bar and talking and joking among themselves. We sat at a table, waiting to be approached and offered a menu, the guy who was talking to other guests walked by. He did not greet us, but only told another waiter to come to our table, to which the other waiter began to look at the time and wave it away, not hiding his unwillingness to approach us. They began to argue, it was clear that none of them wanted to serve us. It made us uncomfortable and we didn't want to stay there even for a minute! We were lucky to find a Thai restaurant across the street with great friendly staff and delicious food. And you guys at Pita House, I will never recommend to anyone. This is not how you treat customers!

Truly delightful experience! Both for the food and the service. Today we were tended by Abel and he was a superstar. Very grateful for him. The meals felt home-made and with great flavors: Baba Ghanouj: yummy Shankleesh: a little bit salty for my taste, however it made a great pita sandwich together with the baba ghanouj, fresh diced tomatoes and julienne onion slices. Falafel salad: very good! Ouzi-Ris Blahmeh: very delicate and fragrant. Sooo good! Perfect rice! Now let's talk about DESSERTS We tried 3 out of 4 and each one was so deliciously unique that it was hard to have a preference. That good they were! 1. Kenafe: wow! Must eat while still warm. Beautiful contrasting flavors and textures. 2. Koshta: we missed the bananas this time. It felt very adequate for a morning meal. 3. Baklava: incredible. Every bite was blissful. Recommended! I shall go back!

Firstly the appetizers we got (sautéed shrimp and the choose 3 samplers) were delicious. The service on the other hand was terrible. We had to slowly repeat our order to the server more than 3 times. Our appetizers came out before our drinks did (proves it wasn’t the kitchen staff), when I tried to call the waiter over he turned around and put his hand up at me and mouthed “wait” in a very dismissive and condescending manner, only to turn back around to ask me what I wanted, as at that point our frustration was very clear. He felt the need to mention that it was his first day which seems odd to start on a Friday. The final straw was when the waiter disappeared before he brought our drinks and then brought us cold food that belonged to another table! We returned it at the same time we heard that table complain about waiting for over an hour an a half for their food, the food that was incorrectly given to us. We asked the manager to just bring us the check since the waiter couldn’t attend to us or remember to serve us our meals or drinks, and the server brought us the check and blamed the kitchen staff for messing up our order! He took no accountability upon being rude and unprofessional to say the least. It’s too bad really because otherwise the food was pretty good, but I’ll...
