I inadvertently drove my lawn tractor over our gravel driveway recently and caused the turning blades to throw a stone into our living room double-paned picture window.

I obtained three estimates from local glass repair companies and submitted all 3 estimates to my homeowners insurance claims adjuster. The insurance company said Old Town Glass and Mirror’s estimate was the only one that matched their estimate, even though the other two bids were lower. When I asked why they would be willing to go with Old Town’s estimate, the claims expert at the insurance company said it was a common industry practice for companies to lowball their estimates to win the contract, and then bill the customer a much higher amount when the job was completed - thereby leaving the insured claimant having to make up the difference.

The claims adjuster independently came up with the same fair estimate that Riadh did, and Riadh’s word was as good as his estimate - what he quoted me was all I paid with no increases over the original estimate.

Riadh is the company owner and the person I engaged directly to schedule an emergency door repair. I was working with a friend who's business was robbed and we needed to find a repairman to secure the office door until replacement glass could be ordered/installed.
