If it wasn't for the rice.... I came here hoping to find a new Thai spot. I ordered based on the Google photos. The staff was very nice. I tried two appetizers, the fried chicken and curry dumplings. The server did offer to remake the curry puffs, I passed. I wasn't a huge fan of either appetizer. I almost counted the restaurant out. If it wasn't for the spicy Thai basil rice with beef I would have counted it out. The rice was good. I'll go for a normal level of spice if I come back. Updating my review based on the response from the restaurant which that was changed 9 hours ago. The original response came off a little more friendly. Please note that a review is my opinion based on my experience with my food. It does not represent all of the food items. I didn't like the puff because some of my potatoes were hard and the puff was doughy. I let the server know upon first bite and I didn't want them remade. I was not charged for the item. I was never rude in my response and did not state that I would not return. Thanks

Living in D.C., we're big fans of the Tiki Garden Thai Street Food on H Street NE. It was a pleasant surprise to see another location in Alexandria. If you love Thai food, go here! The inside space is no-frills, but it's spacious and service is always friendly and efficient. The menu has all the usual Thai suspects and everything is delicious. If you like spice, order the Spicy Basil Fried Rice with chicken. With no spice, my seven-year-old daughter loved the Thai Fried Rice with chicken. Portions are large! For dessert, the mango and sticky rice is worth getting. The rice is black, but tastes like the dessert you're used to. To drink, I enjoyed the Thai iced tea and my daughter enjoyed the lemonade. It strikes the right balance of sour and sweet. Our entire bill came to just under $50 for the two of us.

I love this place so much I almost want to gate keep it but it’s too good. Top tier Thai food, great service and hospitable owner. The Tom yum noodle bowl is simply the best and unique, every noodle dish is delicious, not greasy, and perfectly seasoned unlike the lot of Thai places nearby that just douse everything in sugar and oil. Every appetizer we’ve had is delicious from the brussel sprouts to the crab rangoon to the wings etc. the curries are also amazing. The best Thai in the area hands down. And they’re so accommodating for food allergies/sensitivities. We had a large party one time with various food sensitivities and they catered to us so well. The ambiance has had a facelift since its pho days (prior restaurant) and is clean and cozy. AND the value you get is ridiculous. And they just opened!

We came here for a late lunch. It took quite some time for a server to come to our table to take our order. Once we placed our order, it took an excessive amount of time to receive our drinks. Our appetizer was decent and came out in a reasonable amount of time. Approximately 1 hour after having been seated, we still had not received our entrees. We asked for the check for what we had received, paid it and left. There was a minimal half baked apology and no manager came and asked about our issue. I will not return to this establishment.

At the host stand there is a sign that reads "...if you have high expectations...lower them." Or something to that effect. When I walked in I mentioned it to my party and they said I'm sure it's great.... I should have heeded the warning. My low expectations were met. Coming here was an incredible waste of time and money.

In response to you. Your server only apologized when we decided to leave. When we came in there were 4 people seated at 2 tables. Perhaps if you spent as much energy providing quality service as you do reviewing CCTV and responding in a nasty manner on google, we would have had a better experience. I would challenge you to take a look at all my reviews. Always honest, truthful, and accurate. You are in a public service position. I am very fair. Today, your service fell short of what was acceptable to my family. Do better.

Update: In response to your suggestion we watch The Menu, I did a little research. In that movie, the diners all die. What exactly were you insinuating with your response to my original post? Quite disturbing and unhinged for a business owner. I would avoid this place at all costs and I sincerely hope Google investigates your responses to any patrons who give a fair review of your...

Dined here for the first and last time today. The customer service is terrible. We didn't get a chance to eat our entrees because after waiting for over an hour and watching tables who were seated after us get their food we decided to leave. We only got a chance to try the crab Rangoon and curry puffs. Those dishes were fine... nothing great. Update.. the owner of this restaurant seems to be a lunatic who cannot handle unfavorable reviews. When we visited the restaurant it was not very busy and our server did not offer any apologies. We definitely did not and would never threaten anyone! We simply asked to pay for what we received in the lengthy amount of time we were in this establishment. To the owner- you need to develop a thicker skin. If you can't handle negative feedback you are in the wrong business! Insulting and lying about your customers is sad. Get a life! I have seen the Menu and it was quite a disturbing movie that did not end well for the patrons or the restaurant staff. It was quite violent! Not sure what your intention was for mentioning that movie, but I perceive it as a threat. You are very unprofessional. I will now be reporting you to Google, the Better Business Bureau, the City of Alexandria, Fairfax County Consumer Affairs and the Attorney General of Virginia. Communicating threats of death or bodily harm (including threats to kill or discharge a firearm) electronically, with the intent to place the recipient in reasonable apprehension of death or bodily harm, is a Class 6 felony.
