This is a complaint. This complaint is about Applebee's employee attitude, services, organization ability, and management ability. I placed my order at 4:55pm online and scheduled a pickup at 6pm. I arrived at the restaurant around 5:55. When I arrived at the restaurant, there was no one at the reception but around 15 peoples surrounding the front door. About 5 minutes later, a gentleman in red shirt came out. I walked up and tried to ask for the status of my order. But before I said a word, the gentleman told me that my order is not ready and asked me to wait outside under a 57 degree cold weather. I saw there are around 5 or 6 bags of to go packed on the table with name next to the reception area. How can you tell a customer their order is not ready without asking for an order number or their name. I feel like I was being discrimination. Secondly, customers waiting for their food in a cold weather, I believe the restaurant should at least provide some heaters in the surrounding area to make customers feel more comfortable. This is lack of organization ability. Thirdly, the whole time when I was waiting under the cold weather I only see two employees at the front, one is a lady in black shirt making drink and calling people name to pick up their food, and the other one is the gentleman in red shirt calling people name to pick up their food. Read moreThe customer service was absolutely terrible!!! We got the all you can eat option. I had boneless chicken and my husband had the riblets. We finished our first plate and asked if we could order a second. The server said yes, came back 10 min later with 4 boneless wings and a riblet that was so small it was about the size of my thumb. I asked were the fries were and another server got snooty and said “You didn’t ask for fries too. But I’ll get them.” Didn’t fries come with the meal 🤔. Our guy server also kept checking us out from a distance starring at us, it was super uncomfortable. At one point my husband was like “Should we just pay up front because I feel like this guy keeps watching us because he thinks we’re gonna run out on the check.” When the server came back my husband politely told him “My wife is autistic and hard of hearing. Is there anyway you guys could put the closed captions on the tv.” The server said “No we’ll get in trouble for that.” I’m shocked, Applebees punishes their employees for accommodating disabled people 😳.
Also an incident happened in our face that felt was very unprofessional and inappropriate. A female server was trying to do something on the cash register and guessing she couldn’t do it correctly. We were greeted by a lady asking how many. I said five. She put us down and looked at the restaurant for five seconds and told us "Give us about ten minutes.". We sat down and I looked into the restaurant. I observed many waitresses walking around. They have a bar island in the middle of the restaurant. It was a Sunday so it was busy.
We got called and were sat at our table with menus ready. We waited for 12 minutes before a server acknowledge us, to let us know they would be with us, yet many servers were talking near the entrance. (Hmm...it was Sunday and busy...)
When our server came she asked us for our drink orders and when we did she asked if we needed more time to order. (Uh really?!?) "We're actually ready!"
We placed our order. Kids got their dish. Wife and I were not impressed. I had really small portions and my wife's meal tasted like a frozen meal heated on a skillet(or microwave).
Maybe because it was Sunday, and it was busy we hardly got any attention (yet the servers and waitresses hanged out in the front talking). Maybe I was expecting to much. We probably could have done better at Wendy's then here.
Coming back? No thanks. Tried it, disappointed.
