Ono Hawaiian BBQ — Restaurant in Alhambra

I really enjoy the food here especially when compared to other Hawaiian BBQ spots. I normally order the BBQ combo and substitute the beef for ribs which I really like. This last visit I was informed that I was not allowed to substitute the beef for ribs which I thought was really strange since I have done this since I ever started eating here and at other Ono locations. Perhaps the girl behind the counter was new or maybe they recently changed their policy?? In any event, the food is very delicious. Maybe I'll try substituting for ribs at the other...

Love having a nice Hawaiian BBQ place, but you can go in expecting that your food will take a while to get to you after you've placed your order. The staff are always friendly and have always offered great suggestions when I'm not sure what to get. The restaurant is usually pretty clean, but you can expect some tables that need wiped down during busy hours. I would love to give this place five stars, but that wait for food...it is regularly at least 10 minutes, if not 15, for your food. If you are ordering with a group, plan at least a 15 minute wait...

The food is excellent and consistent. Prices are reasonable for what you get, and there is a decent selection. There has been a lunch rush the last few times I've been there, and large orders that have been phoned in or ordered online can make the service slower than I would like, especially when I just want a spam musubi (which Ono does perfectly). But it's the luck of the draw. Some lunch breaks I can be in and out with plenty of time to spare. And the food makes it...
