Dunleavy's — Restaurant in Allen Park

This was a tough one to review.

9 of us stopped in on a Monday night around 8:00 pm after unfortunately a visit next door. We walked across the parking lot and we're seated right away next to the open garage door area to the left of the entrance. Plenty of room for our party and nice to have that type of seating. The inside is nice. From what I read it is recently remodeled. Decor is cool. TV's showing games. Music booming.

Dunleavy's. . . Playing rap music doesn't quite fit the mood and or theme of the place. It was a bit obnoxious at times. But. We weren't there for a concert.

Our server was at first uneasy on her initial approach to our table. But warmed up super quick and was very nice.

Why four stars ?

The appetizer mushrooms were hot and excellent, but came after our main items. I would order those again and again and again. Burgers were very good. Ruben was really good. Coleslaw a huge miss. Some spice wasn't right.

But taking away one star ( and I am being generous with this ) is the time factor. From ordering to food was very long. That's not the servers fault. That's kitchen efficiency. Or lack of. For mainly sandwiches and appetizers and burgers. It was really really slow. Then appetizers came after main food.

I will return for sure. We never have been here before and the food was really good. Just gotta work on speeding it up a tad. And I always knock a star off when places advertise different prices for cash verse card. My bill was $ 71.00. I'm pretty sure you have the margin to soak up 2%. For two burgers. A Ruben, mushrooms. And three drinks.

Very disappointed in my most recent visit. Me and two of my friends stopped in for a meal before attending an event nearby. After having been here two times before and having good food and service with one friend, we convinced our other friend that this was a good place. It was around 3:30 in the afternoon so not real busy yet. We placed our order and it took over 45 minutes to get our food. When it did come, the fries were hot but our sandwiches and burgers were only just barely warm and the friend to whom we had told that this was a good place ended up getting sick to his stomach after only eating a third of his burger, and having to make a few trips to the men's room before we left. Very disappointed indeed. I can no longer...

Been going here on Fridays for years to get the Fish Dinners. Only twice have we had poor service and food enough to complain. So NOT bad odds ..but just so happens both times were the same waitress. And both complaints were similar. Ordered a salad and never got it, ordered fries with the fish but never got the fries, and the macaroni was cold. Both ocassions we had to go up to the bar area to see what the hold up was. Not just once but twice. Today there were only us and two other tables and the table of four were already eating I won't go back! ...but I suggest one star because they comped our meals both times...but that is not the point. We weren't there for free food....we were there for Good food and...
