HTeaO - Allen (Greenville & Main) — Restaurant in Allen

This location has seemingly had quality control issues since opening. I highly suggest going inside and sampling the tea you choose before purchasing at this location. Sometimes there’s not much flavor to them or they’re not sweet even though they’re supposed to be.

I’ve also experienced issues when purchasing gallons to take home. On one instance the gallon was given to me fresh for a sweet coconut, got home and it wasn’t sweet and had very little flavor. Most recently I just purchased a gallon over the weekend, opened it and it’s already bad.. tastes absolutely terrible and realized it has a stale date of yesterday. Typically their gallons are still good for a while after the date written on the gallon.. but this one is horridly stale.

The staff is always very nice but due to the quality issues I’ll likely prioritize going to other locations out of my way where I don’t experience these quality control issues.

Update: bumped from two stars to one: I tried giving this location another shot because of convenience and was once again disappointed. I ran inside during happy hour, the store was empty. All of the machines were at least 1/2 empty and you could tell the tea wasn’t fresh and the machines don’t get cleaned. Employees were standing around talking to friends that stopped in and I was barely acknowledged when checking out. The counters and all the machines were filthy with spots the tea had splashed on. In front of the checkout register there were sticky rings of tea on the counter top that had dried. I was reminded why I don’t go to this location even if it’s convenient.

The experience I had here from ordering the GC to trying to get ahold of someone for over a month. I recently had to come in because they won’t call back or email me back. I came in around 11am on Tuesday 2/18 and talked to some “lead” who was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. I explained that I got a gift card for my friend and she tried to use it last month and they told her it wasn’t working. I’ve been calling this location and sending in “tickets?” For about a month now. I do not live in Allen so I had to find time to drive 30 + mins to the location to ask for help. I explained to this girl what happened and without any other conversation she immediately said “well how do I know you haven’t used it yet” not “oh I’m so sorry let’s get this fixed” I was honestly in complete shock of her unprofessional attitude towards me. She told me a manger would be in around 2pm and that she’d have him call me. I asked for my gift card and receipt back that she at first refused to give back to me. I had to ask for it back multiple times. She finally gave back the gift card but again I had to ask multiple times to get my receipt back. With the way she was acting I didn’t trust her with my proof of payment seeing as that’s the first and only thing she told me. She gave me a piece of paper to write down my number and name that I can only assume wasn’t handed off to the manager since it’s now Thursday 2/20 and I still have yet to hear back from the manager or any team member. I do not want a refund unless we can’t get this figured out. I want to be able to give this as it was...

I love HTEAO. In fact when they opened I went in and bought a tshirt because I didn’t want to stand in the heat in the grand opening line to get a free one.

I have now visited that place 5-6 times. 3 of those times, I got the wrong tea. Once I ordered 1/2 almond and 1/2 unsweet green. I got unsweet green only. This has happened 2 times now. Was told the almond wasn’t put in it. Then I asked for 1/2 Georgia Peach and 1/2 Unsweet. Again, I got regular sweet tea. No peach, no half and half.

This last time I went in and got it corrected. But I tell you what really makes me mad…. I didn’t know there was some type of savings deal to use the app until I was standing in there and I overheard them telling another customer. I was so mad all the times I had already been there, no one said a word to me.

Super disappointing as I had been so excited about this place opening. I frequented the Plano one and was glad this was opening in my hometown. I hope they work out the kinks. Get some people in there that know what they are doing. So annoying.

How hard is it to put two different tea flavors into a cup. So while I love HTEAO, so far I don’t love this location. Hence the 4 stars and not 5. Maybe I should have...
