Excellent small-town museum that exhibits the history of Allen. I especially liked their exhibit "Allen - Then and Now," which looked at photos of downtown Allen and the blocks around the museum and compared it to what the area looks like today. It was a great way to see how Allen has transformed through the decades from a small town centered around the railroad to a thriving city in the DFW metroplex. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I feel the locomotive and caboose on display outside the museum could use some descriptive signs around them. They are nice to look at and walk around, but I didn't seen any plaques stating what they were, where they came from, or what their connection to Allen is. However, yesterday, the 2nd Saturday, it was NOT open and there was no one around, and no signs indicating why the museum wasn't open.
