Everyone has been super nice the two times I've been here! And I super appreciate all they do for the community and being open during this quarantine (I actually follow them on Facebook and decided to order from them even though I live a bit far because I loved how they had supported a guy who had no food and even when they were closed, they made sure he was fed!!) Anyhow- first time, I ordered chicken fingers and fries and they were delicioussss!! Probably best I've had anywhere. This 2nd time, I ordered pasta alfredo-- and I am giving 4 stars only because I was a little disappointed because it wasn't really alfredo- just penne drenched in butter lol. It looked a little weird to me, but i tried to mix in the hopes that maybe the sauce had just separated in the car and had sank to the bottom- but no, it was literally just penne with a stick of melted butter, some parsley, and little bits of parmesean cheese throughout. It was really greasy and no alfredo flavor or texture since there was no alfredo sauce to give it that creamy consistency you would normally expect. I wound up just heating up some marinara sauce at home and mixed it in, just to get rid of some of the greasy texture. I still will come back to them for their chicken fingers & fries! (Seriously...super addicting haha) but I might be a little hesitant to try other new things off the menu. My roommate also ordered the alfredo with me and actually thought I placed the order wrong and had only ordered buttered noodles xD Hope this is a fair review! I'm not a picky eater by any means, and I probably will come back if I happen to be in the area and in the mood for chicken fingers- but I would be hesitant about their pasta. Serving size for the pasta is huge, though! I will definitely give props for that! It definitely tasted better (and not as greasy) with the marinara sauce, and now I have enough for lunch/dinner today, and probably lunch for tomorrow as well! They also included fresh bread (yummmm!!!)...

Back Story: I was given a coupon last week for 1 Free Large pizza w/ 1 topping from Jerry after a driver failed to delivery my paid in full food order with 18% tip. The conflict was resolved to the best of his ability and I eventually received my food 3-4 hours later.
Today: About 20 minutes after placing an order for exactly what the coupon states, 1 Large pizza and 1 topping, I left my apartment to pick up my food.
Conflict 1: Arrived to pick up my complementary pizza (given to me last week) and was notified that the coupon was old and I'm expected to pay the difference for their old pizza sizes to their current.
Conflict 1A: I'm expected to pay the difference from their old prices to their current prices FOR A COUPON THAT WAS GIVEN TO ME LAST WEEK for an issue that was caused by THIER delivery driver...
Conflict 2: The man at the register treated me like I'm a hoarder of old expired coupons trying to get a free meal from local businesses. Again, THE COUPON WAS GIVEN TO ME LAST WEEK.
Conflict 3: I didn't bring in my purse because it was supposed to be a quick exchange, coupon for pizza. When coming back in with wallet in hand, the man at the register glances at my hand and informs me with his wealth of knowledge and psychic powers on women's accessories that he cannot accept cards unless the transaction reaches at least $5. The overall demeanor, tone, and body language is conflict 3.
Recap: Hi, I'm the customer that placed an order with the same restaurant a week prior and never received food until I called to complain. Food that was paid for in full plus 18% tip for their driver. And yet here I sit typing a negative review on a business that has great food but has a poor attitude on their customers and possibly a total lack of communication between...
Read moreBorn and Raised South Allentown guy here..now living in Northern Pennsylvania and really really miss my Allentown and Philadelphia food spots. My wife and I were in town for an event and out of curiosity we decided to stop and see what became of a pizzeria called Ciro's I frequently ate at over 25 years ago...
Just a little background...we have ate pizza all over the world, from Chicago deep dish to South Philly "Angelos", to Southern California flatbread, NJ Boardwalk beach slices, Detroit squares, to many Brooklyn authentic pies.
Well well well let me tell "yous"...what a pleasant surprise we had at The Crust Pizzeria! Greeted as we walked in by my guy with the gold cross chain 👍..we ordered a few random slices for dine in and a hoagie to go..that was just the beginning! Let me start by saying these dudes are doing it right! Perfect cook, not to crispy.. but not to floppy..toppings were all fresh and seasoned to perfection. From the fresh ricotta on the white slice, to the sweet sauce on the sicilian, each one was knocked out of the park.
Little did they know my wife and I are Pizzeria connoisseurs and we watch every detail. We walk in as random customers and quietly critique each detail for fun..soooo here we are.. the story goes.., From the young female delivery driver neatly putting pies in a snug delivery bag, to the counter guy double checking pizza "doneness" with the Pizza maker. From the gentlemen cleaning the flat griddle after every cook to the politeness for every customer putting the order in..let me just say this spot is for real! 👍👍
P.S. the "American" hoagie we got to go was everything we hoped for..from the classic Jersey Liscio's roll to the fresh Oil and Vin.. I'd put it up against any south philly or jersey hoagie shop any day, any time.
Keep crushing every detail! We can't wait until next...
