China King — Restaurant in Allentown

The worse Chinese restaurant in Pennsylvania bar none.We were "greeted" by a dour, stone-faced woman who behaved like she was doing us a favor by waiting on us. We ordered pork belly and a side of steamed dumplings. Rice was not served with the pork belly and truth be known we would have been better off slicing my leather belt up and eating that. The " pork" was cold and about as moist as the Mojave desert. The dumplings were thick, pasty, and reminded me of when I once ate play-dough in kindergarten ( which was more flavorful by comparison btw). We wound up trashing the entire lot. From the reviews my wife and I thought we try the one in Emmaus. We were disappointed. We ordered off the lunch menu. The prices were reasonable, but the food was mediocre. The fried rice had no taste. My chicken was tender and my Chinese vegetables were okay. We were never ask if we are eating in or takeout. The place smells of frying oil. The walls are dirty and the ceilng tiles were just as bad. Not a very inviting place to eat. Some of the building problems I would think it the landlord responsibility. We had ordered our food and it came two hours later. The food was cold and disgusting. The Chicken with Broccoli, Beef and Broccoli and the Teryaki Chicken Sticks tasted like the most pungent seafood ever. The other dishes (lo mein and wanton soup) had absolutely no flavor. The person on the phone told us that the food was eight minutes away AN HOUR before it was actually delivered (we live less than 15 minutes away).
