If you asked me 6 months ago, this place would be 5 stars across the board. One of my favorite places for Hispanic food.
We went a couple Friday nights ago. I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in and got a table for 4 right away. It was loud but it was a Friday night so we understood. We were seated at a middle table next to another table of four. Almost immediately after we sat down, the table next to us had a woman swing her chair around to the small isle between the tables to get a selfie (apparently it was her birthday) slamming the back of her chair into my wife and draping her hair over our table. This went on for a couple of minutes and happened right in front of the hostess, nothing was said. The server took about 15 minutes to come get our drink order and we put in for the table side ceviche while she was there. In front of our server the woman from the table next to us again slammed the back of her chair into my wife and draped her hair over our table, sprinkling quite a few lose ones on our table. Once again, nothing was said by the staff.
The table side ceviche showed up and in the middle of the assembly, the ceviche guy backed into our server, dumping all our drinks both on the floor consequently splashing my children. No apologies or comments. Waitress said something under her breath and walked away and got someone to come out and clean the mess. When the ceviche guy (who was apparently miserable to be there and had zero interaction with us) was done he handed me the ceviche bowl to put down. Before I could place it, he did the "I need a tip" finger rub thing looking annoyed I hadn't given it to him earlier. I quickly got my wallet out and gave him a couple bucks. Our waitress returned after he left and took our order for dinner. The ceviche was delicious.
The food came out really quick. I ordered the seafood enchiladas, my wife the variety enchiladas, one kid ordered the quesadilla and the other the kids taco meal. The kids food was reportedly okay despite being pretty sad looking. Something had changed with the seafood enchiladas. Not that it was off but it was bland and okay, not what I usually got and not worth well over $20. My wife said the same about hers.
I struggled to write this. I have ate at this location at least 5 or 6 times before. If it was just one thing from an off night, I wouldn't have. I've always really enjoyed Plaza and have ate at their other locations and always had a pleasent experience. I do plan on going back at some point and hopefully this was just a series of unfortunate events and not this place...
Read moreI come here about once every other month some great drinks when serviced at the bar. I’ve had better food at urbano and Taco Y Tequilla. Here I’ve had a few hiccups with my meal due to poor communication on waiter end but when you tell them of the mistake THEY NEVER WANT TO TAKE OWNERSHIP seems to be trend instead they replace at an additional cost. One time I was given taco sauce ( the one they serve with tacos) in place of salsa . When I bought to waiter attention he swore that’s the sauce they always serve. I let it slide but visits since prove I was correct. Another time with a full party we had an issue on missing pico and sour cream, waiter then charges us extra no communication. Again understanding language barrier let it go. This evening however a different experience that has nothing to do with language. The $24+ Texas fajita meal says includes rice and beans, it doesn’t say refried beans ( so why isn’t this a choice), as a server brings out my plate I alert him i didn’t want refried beans( instantly he could have taken plate but no leaves it) . Now I sit there don’t touch the plate and wait for waiter as he comes with my margarita, I ask waiter could I have not gotten black beans instead of refried he said No it comes like that. Then proceeds to get another waitress who first says the same thing including all meals come with refried beans, I tell her menu doesn’t say that and my son’s taco meal had black beans. She then says only tacos is black beans. I said so I can’t request black beans she said for $3 , I then said so I could have never subbed out the refried along with fact there is cheese , she said oh yes you can but we don’t allow customers to send back food to kitchen. I told her I didn’t touch plate. I was not thinking they should serve again to someone else but they could have corrected my plate to be as preferred since it wasn’t eaten. It was like they didn’t care. Black beans and refried beans don’t cost that much and my bill exceed $60 for just my son and I. This shows they don’t value their customers. Sadly I’d get better service at Taco Bell down...
Read moreFirst and for most I have to say that this is the first time me and my wife experience the upmost terrible sloppy service ever at this restaurant. My wife and I are all about service. If you are reading reviews to see how this place is contine too read. It is worth going to this place, yes but it is better to sit at he bar. Ask for Marco. He is the bartender there and makes excellent drinks and provides exceptional service. Marco is very friendly and professional. However tonight me and my wife had a waiter who was sloppy never introduced himself so we don't know his name but that he had a pony tail. We were sat down and waited for about a good long 10 mins before he even asked us what we wanted to drink or bring us chips and salsa. He just ran up to the table and said I'm sorry I will be right back. Ok, 5 mins passed broughtus chips and salsa and still nothing to drink or not even bothered to ask. He was too busy laughing and joking around with the people across from us. After those long 5 mins he asked what we wanted to drink. 2 waters one with lemon and a sweet tea. Of course we waited again and he continued to joke and laugh with the people across from us. I don't know if he didn't want to service us but everytime he tended to us it was like his attitude changed. My wife and I was like are we bugging. We order an appetizer and the entrees. We even ask for extra salsa. He completely disregarded my salsa until he seen me eating my chips and then remembered to bring it. Then waited to bring my appetizer with my meal like seriously I thought the appetizer was to come before the meal but I get it he was entertaining his people so much he completely forgot to bring the appetizer. So we didn't eat none of the food but walked out respectfully and won't be patronizing this...
