Winston's Jamaican Restaurant — Restaurant in Allentown

I ended up not being able to eat there because they said their card machine was down and I didn't have cash. I don't actually believe their card machine was down because I saw them say this a month ago and then make an exception for a customer with a card. I'm guessing they just say this because they prefer cash, which is unprofessional, especially in this day and age where not a lot of people even carry cash, they can atleast get square cash, venmo, cash app or something.

Anyway this disappointment inspired me to go try out the other Jamaican spot Cultural Jamaican Jam and it was delicious, PLUS they accept cards there. My husband said that's our new spot from now on, Winston used to be a nice guy and the food was delicious back when I first started going there years ago but he's changed, employees have changed and I just kept going back hoping to get that old taste, guess it's...

I’ve been craving an oxtail platter for weeks upon weeks. So, once I finally had the time to order on DoorDash, I decided to order from here. Ngl, I was a bit cautious beforehand because of other reviews that I read. But, I took the chance nevertheless and I can easily say this was probably the best oxtail I ever ate hands down 😩 !!! As a professional foodie / big back, I rate this a 10/10. The oxtail fell off the bone and melted in my mouth - barely any fat 😍 The cabbage was delicious and the rice & beans were perfect. I also ordered a side of small mac and cheese which was excellent - hella flavor and seasoning. All my food was still hot and fresh when it came and completely uplifted my mood after devouring it … hence why there’s only an after picture lmao sorry. My jaw literally dropped as soon as I opened the platter and I immediately started digging in. 10/10 WILL be coming...

I called ahead and my order was ready for pickup. Jerk chicken dinner with rice and peace, cabbage and plantain, beef patty, curry chicken patty, carrot cake and Mac n cheese. Food was good, spice levels good, seasoning good. I prefer no corn in my cabbage. Plantains could’ve been a little riper. Curry chicken patty was good as well. Carrot cake was good too. For the area it’s good jerk. People are very friendly. Max and cheese was a bit on the saltier side.

They forgot my patties(left them in the warmer to keep them warm) and I had to drive back, good thing I wasn’t far. Next time double check your orders. They are human, you double check your order at McDonald’s.. but don’t leave a bad review.. Ppl make mistakes, I see some comments bashing this establishment.
